"Team 2, move, move, move!" Josef shouted ordered through the headset - though he was within speaking distance - as he dashed out of the dropship, his eyes darting around for any threat. He continued on to the closed door, crouching down to one side of it.

Team 2 - which included Corboda, Percov and Hiede- came up behind him. "Open and clear - weapons are tight until I say so. Respond." There was a series of clicks acknowledging the order. "Move."

The door slid open and the team moved in, swinging there rifles back and forth in search of hostiles. In fact, there seemed to be no-one there at all. Josef switched his com-link to the captain's frequency "There's no-one here sir. It's clear for you to come in - Team 2 is moving forward in search of the scientists." He didn't wait for Kieran's answer, but waved his team on.

They passed by dozens of different rooms, clearing them all without meeting a single person. Up ahead, Josef spotted the lab with it's double doors and warning signs. "Camp it here, marines. We wait for the captain before we clear the lab."

 

Floor opend the door and stepped inside. "You must be Arthur" she said to the man sitting there behind a big computerscreen. "The captain want's to see you!"

 

While Team 2 was waiting for the captain, Percov lit himself a ciggar and slowly walked towards Heide.

"Hey kid, ya' want a ciggar?... I'm telling ya', the fact that no one's here is not good. I can feel something bad brewin'..."

He checked the concusion grenades on his belt and the crouched behind a corner with his secondary MK60 pistol and his ciggar.

 

"Gotta agree with you there, Pyro," said Tomas. He took a drink from his canteen and eyed the double doors as if they would fly open any moment and release a drooling fanged monstrosity.

He hoped it would be so. He needed to shoot something...

 

"Put that cigar out Percov - we're on a mission here and it's no place to relax." Josef ordered the marine, the anger in his voice very evident to all within earshot.

 

"Damn it... Maybe the smoke 'ell blind any god damned alien that decides to show up! Say, you want one to? The more smoke, the less aliens..."

 

Link was one of the first to jump out of the drop ship, his sniper cocked against his shoulder. He took out his head phones, inserted a mike into his ear and tune the radio to the channel the reast of the squad were on.
"All clear as far as I can see sir." he said, scanning the land around them through his scope.

 

Kieren listened over the speaker in his helmet as team 2 entered the building. Deserted they said.

Sh*t.

“Ok, marines. Move out!” As the four marines jumped off board, the dropship took off. It would not return until called upon, and even then it’d take another twenty minutes. If anything went wrong, the team’s would have to hold out for a long time.

Kieren proceeded down the corridors. They were dimly lit, so the team used their flashlights that were attached to each gun. Very quickly, team one arrived at the labs. Josef and his men were waiting.

“Ok. You guys ready to clear this thing?” the captain said, replacing his assault rifle with a simple pistol and walking towards the door. The marines all took up separate positions around the door and the captain began to bypass it. He failed.

“ Lawson, get your ass up here. Now!”

 

Josef walked over to Percov and took the Cigar out of his mouth. "Don't disobey an order ever again. I like you Percov, I consider you my friend, but I won't have you fool around on any mission." He paused, hoping Percov would register the words "Fall in and stay on guard."

 

"...Yes, Sir." said Percov.

He moved next to the door with his MK60 in his right hand, and a knife in his left hand. This was a special knife, given to him by an old friend that died years ago. Scratches on the knife's blade said: 'nu sunt singur'. This means 'I am not alone'.

 

Link swapped his rifles, the smaller, lighter-weight assault rifle feelign a little out of place place, he activated the torch and moved up behind his captain.

 

Gareth walked up in response to the captains order. As he looked at the door lock Gareth began to take things out of his backpack. He retreived a circuit diverter, a bypass CPU and some wires. Connecting them to the lock he began to type furiously into the bypass CPU. In about 30 seconds he was done. As he pressed a button, the door slid open.

 

Anthony stood and appraised the woman in front of him, smiling gracefully. "Anthony, actually," he corrected her. "Where is the captain?"

As she answered, he knelt down and turned off the computer. There was every chance that this was his mysterious Flo56, he had never seen her about before, and so he didn't want to run any risk of her finding him poking about in her account - that would get him sacked for certain.

Of course, there were plenty of other people who could be his poet, but he hoped that she would be the one. Looking like that, it would certainly be no disappointment. He would have to find out more about her.

 

"Allright, Anthony it is!" "Forgive me I can't think that clearly lately, becaus of the situation her on the base." Floor says.

"I even can't think about any new poems to write..." She mumbels.

 

As the door slid open, Percov loaded his pistol and said:

"Ready for entry, Sir!"

 

Kieren signalled to the team, then, his pistol held high, he charged into the labaratory.

James Corran almost jumped out of his skin. Teh door had opened, which wasn't all that un-common. But when eight armed soldiers rushed in shouting, he lost his mind.

"What in the...?"

The marines circled the room, checking. Tehn, finally, the captain approached James.

"Mr Corran, yes?"
"Yes...sir." He didn't know what to say.
"Right this way." The captain gestured towards the door.

"Secure the area and explain to these sciencists whats going on." Keiren ordered the marines. Then he left, with James. out in the hall, they began to talk.

"What's happened here?"

 

"Well, at any rate, we'd best not keep the captain waiting. Lead on," he said, pretending not to hear the last remark, though it made him want to jump up and cheer. This was, no doubt, Flo56. Grinning inside, he followed her from the room.

 

Entering the lab, Tomas set himself to the left of the doorway, covering his squadmates as they searched the room.

Once the room was cleared, he relaxed, bringing the autocannon to port arms. Their entry had probably frightened the scientists out of their wits, and there was no sense waving a big cannon about and making the situation worse. His eyes continued to scan around, though. He had a feeling this was a long way from being over...

Kieren nodded his head as the man finished his tale. It was definitely uncanny, but he believed it nonetheless. The evidence was right there, in front of him. Diseased people. Diseased bodies.

The captain and James returned to the labs. Kieren beckoned his soldiers to him.

“Ok people, here’s the situation. An alien is loose on the station. It’s small, too. This means the little bastard could be using air vents and ducts. Either way, dead or alive, we’re gunna find him. Now, The teams will stay the same as they were on entry. However, Professor Corran here will accompany my team. As for Jarred, you’ll remain here. To look after these three scientists. Now, is it understood?” The marines grunted. Jarred was obviously unhappy to be left out. The captain cared not for emotion.

“Ok, Arca. Your team will clear the North offices, kitchens and computer labs. I’ll take the offices to the South and maintenance to the east. Will regroup here in twenty minutes, unless I say less. Ok?” Josef nodded.

“One last thing. This alien. We don’t want it alive. If it’s alive, end that. We’re not here to study the bastard, but to destroy. Now, move out, soldiers.” Josef’s team moved towards the North door, Kieren’s to the South. However, the two leaders themselves waited in the middle of the room.

“Josef. Just thought you’d want to know. There are two people on the station. They should be in the computer labs. If found, get someone to escort them back here, then brief them. Ok?” Josef nodded again.

“Move out!”

 

"Arthur.. I mean Anthony?" Floor asked when the man left the room. "I tought I hearth something. I better come with you to find out what it is!"

"Do you have any weapond here?"
