    The Blade.

He's just an FMT who has a weaker fighter side and who can only pick pockets and steal. The trade off is that he can cast spells at peak efficiency - stronger than other mage spell casting class in SoA, and he has Defensive and Offensive Spin.
He also has a much better stronghold. :p

While I agree with Scythesong, the only drawback is that a Blade PC can never compete with Haerdalis -something Scythesong made clear in another thread- (just like a Mage PC who would always be belittled by Edwin at least in SoA).
It's always frustrating to get a PC who is a child of Bhaal and can't become more powerful than some extra planar actor... :(

Well I think the child of bhaal should be powerfull because what he is.
Not because what sort of class he is.

Never really understood why a child of Bhaal would be accepted as a cleric by another god really. Or as a Paladin. Sounds cheesy for a lawful good god to have a paladin thats tainted with pure evil in his blood.

The Edwin thing isn't true. I once played a human invoker that completely bulldozed everything after Chapter 4. He was able to solo Irenicus at level 17. Much more powerful than Edwin.

It does sound cheesy, but keep in mind that no-one knew that until the Child of Bhaal was about 20 years old (the first Baldur's Gate).

Also, if the god was good, he'd give the kid the benefit of the doubt i'd think.

A solo Fighter/Mage/Cleric with all his stars put into using Quarterstaffs. Get Staff of the Magi and wreak HAVOC with it! Get 25 STR in no time flat! Get Improved Haste, Righteous Magic, Draw Upon Holy Might, Globe of Blades, Summon Planetar, Mislead, SKull Trap and MANY MORE!!!

    /end fanboy rant... :p

Eh, but why Cleric ? A simple fighter\mage can reach unbelievable Str, especially if imported from BG1. Rod of Resurrection does all the healing, and Fighter\Mage can have 10 attacks with Improved Haste instead of 8. Cleric spells.. well, there're two or three good ones, but nothing Mage spells+Greenstone can't do.

Or does F\M\C have something I've missed ?

Clerics have nice offensive buffs that you'll have to miss out if you're a pure cleric because of you won't find any good use for them at 1 attack per round. An F/M/C would be able to put these in contingencies and, in conjunction with mage spells and their Fighter side, but them to good use.

Mate...my F/M/C modded to a Kensai/Mage/Cleric had an AC of -18 with Barkskin! No items.

He had a STR, DEX AND CON of 25!

You don't need crap, overpowered items for that.

He used to hit for like 45-50 damage per hit. 95 on a critical was low!!

And as for what you're missing out on...

Do you have ANY idea how COOL it is to throw out 2-3 Webs and then a Greater Malison to stick your enemies into it...and then cast Free Action on yourself?

Or how about summoning Elementals without that crappy mind-fight thing? Or Air Elementals with Improved Haste?

How about Negative Plane Protection on your whole party?

Yes, I know you can get this from items but then...it won't be as good as from your own spells. AND you don't have to get tied up to those same items over and over again. You can just use what you want, instead of what you need. Cuz you wont need anything to be SOOO powerful, its not even funny.

FMC without XP Cap is the BEST!

Oh and I forgot to add...he had 4 attacks with the Staff, 7 with Improved haste...8 with those gloves of extraordinary specialization.

When you've got Critical strike active, and you're hitting for 98 damage 8 times per round...you don't really care about 10 attacks. :p

Wow Faraaz, so you cheated twice, maybe three times (if you naturally have STR, DEX and CON of 25), and you've got the most powerful character!

No offense dude, but when having a conversation about what character is the strongest, don't you think it's a good idea to play by the rules?

Yeah. K/M/C is Sk'd F/M/C. You can only give one kit to your charecter using SK.
DUHM Klorox. Anomen easily gets those stats by the time we got to the Underdark. An 18-18-18 charecter would get everything to 25 by L21.

I am not really sure how he really got to -18AC. However, assuming the K/M/C was 24/24/24:
Barkskin (Base AC 0), Blur (-3AC), Defensive Harmony (-2AC) and DUHM (Dex 25 = -7AC ) perhaps. Add to that 'Armor of Faith' (25% damage resistance @L20)

Holy Power (Str 18/00 and Fighter THAC0) and Righteous Magic works wonders for a Cleric's fighting abilities :yum:

Although 25 dex gives you -6AC not -7, I think it's still possible -18 AC since you forgot spirit armor and improved invisible and Kensai bonus (-2 from the staff if need be :) ).

But who cares about AC when all you need is mirror image and stoneskin + SoTM, save the headache for those don't like buffing that much :D

But Faraaz, I've seen nothing cool yet :p

STR 25 ? early stage your special ability is better, later then you have many str boost and equips. 18 sucks compare to 18/00, but 23 to 25 is no big deal. Even if there's no item in this game, monks will rule, not FMC :shake:

25 dex ? -2 AC bonus compare to 18 dex. And thief skill bonus and missile weapon, too bad you can't use bows :D

    25 con ? 20 more HP, cool.

40-50 damage ? So do the Kensages.

Web and free action ? Arbane sword, or SI:Evocation

Summon elemental ? Since you cannot cast druid spell, you gota waste a 7th slot for it, which is useless since Devas are better, but Plantars are the best.

Negative Plane protetion ? Don't tell me you cast it on each of you party member, it lasts for 5 rounds , right ? Really, this is where the limited wish shines

In SoA, I'm with Scythesong. The possibilities available to the Blade are incredible in SoA, as there is almost nothing they cannot do (heal and disarm traps are the only things I can think of).

The Sorcerer doesn't hit its full power without ToB, and the Blade is even more powerful with the expansion. Of course, you could always cheat and give yourself Rapture Of The Father as an unlimited innate ability with ShadowKeeper... I'd like to see someone top that.

("Innate RotF" shamelessly plagiarised from earlier Scythesong's post)
