You know what's really annoying?? Norton anti-virus trying to rip me off!

We've used macaffe (however you spell it) for ages but because I bought a new laptop, we got a deal on norton 360 to cover 3 PC's. I got a message tonight saying that there was a bug that needed a manual fix and I had to load Norton chat and speak to an advisor. The advisor told me that despite the fact that I'd paid for the software in the first place, they we're going to charge me £69.99 to remotely access my laptop and get rid of the bug!!!

Told them to stick it and fixed it myself. What a cheek though, I'm definately going back to macaffee next year and making sure everyone I know gets rid of Norton before they spend a fortune!! GRRRRRRRRRRRR

I've got the free version of AVG. It eventually got the Trojan Horse, but it took a while. Now the fact that sometimes things run slower when the Spybot is watching.

But Norton really protected me on the internet--it wouldn't let me do anything! I had to disable the internet security portion just to connect to a website!

gnarf, download avast, it's the best i've used at keeping my computer safe.
Also Malwarebytes.com for a really good anti-malware program.

Girls who are flirty with you, but inevitably have a boyfriend that you didn't know about... until the worse possible time (a little exaggeration there  but you get the point).

I'm trying to limit what I have to download while I'm waiting on High speed. I'll make a not of the two things you recommend...

Yes, Dial up still annoys me.

People who think they know what you're on about and are inclined to say that as well.

Honestly. They don't have a clue. They're always wrong. Each and every frigging time. And once they blurt out smugly "I know what this is about" or "I know what' you're on about" and think that this is a valid excuse not to listen to anythign you say, they really don't know what I'm on about after that.

'Cause after that I'm on about wanting to rip their damn heads off and raping their eyesockets. :flaming:

Working, or trying to work, under intense time pressure, while people around bumble along and chat, interrupt me, ask me questions, do generally noisy things. Makes me... Silence is one of the least appreciated treasures today.

The song "I'm a girl watcher" by some sick pervert. Why not just retitle it "I'm a Proto-Stalker!"? I hate that song.

While we're on the topic of music, most rap. I'd say 90% of rap is definitely on my hate list. They're all sickos and crooks, or at least wannabe sickos and crooks.

    Stuff that annoys me most.

    1. Cell phones
    2. Wireless headsets for cell phones. what's the point have we become so lazy as a race that we can't be bothered to lift our hand 2 feet to talk to somebody?
    3. Cats
    4. Trying to find parts for a classic car online.
    5. Not being with my girl.

    1. Stupid people.
    2. Stupid people on the Internet (trying to correct stupid people on the Internet is tantamount to subtracting 1 from infinity).
    3. Aggressive people in cars - at least they're not packing, I should be grateful for that.
    4. People who are too busy trying to make themselves look good at work, so much so that they actually do nothing, yet manage to delegate the blame to others. Bastards (and bastardettes).
    5. Lobby groups.
    6. Glacially slow-moving government agencies (the grief I am copping just to get a passport is unbelievable).
    7. People who ask your advice, do the opposite, and then complain to you about how things never work for them.
    8. Automated telemarketing.
    9. People who are too lazy to apply the advice you gave them last time to the identical problem they have this time.
    10. People who do not understand the 'JFGI' principle (a close relative of the RTFM principle).

I guess you hate me, then, because I am one of those

I do understand the RTFM principle (Read The Flying Manual) but have yet to see the JFGI -- unless it has something to do with Google?

Ahh, I applied my guess to the acronym and I was right :D I guess I understand what it means after all :banana:

No, LKD... you get the principle, even if you didn't immediately get the acronym.

Props for figuring it out. :thumb: More than I can say for people who wouldn't think to apply JFGI when they didn't get it.

When you're at the train station, and the train pulls up, and it stops so that you're as far away as you could physically be from a door >.<
