    That would suck worse than anything on the planet. I thought that when Terry Brooks melded his Word series with Shannara it was bad enough, but this is unbelievable -- please tell me it's a joke?

    For the record, Goodkind's gratuitous depravity turned me off his work years ago. As Joacqin so eloquently put it:

    That's really all that can be said about the man.

    I haven't read the book but I was under the impression that one of his books was a "bridge" between his series that started with "running with the Demon" and the Shannara series. maybe I misread the back cover.

    I read the first Word & void books and even though it was a while ago I found them to be the best Brooks books I had read. Actually a bit curious as to how he ties it together. Long time ago since I read the Shannara books but they did give me future earth vibes.
