Viggo's son Henry had two small roles in the LotR films - one was as one of the boys at Helm's Deep IIRC but I can't recall the other one.
And actually, though most of you probably know, Stuart Townsend was first choice for Aragorn. Can't remember who was second choice but Viggo was third and had to be talked into it by his son.

James Buchanon was not just the only single president, but was also the only president from Pennsylvania.

Also, one vote does count(for those who say it doesn't matter). Hitler was elected chairman of the Nazi party by one vote and Andrew Johnson was saved from impeachment by one vote.

    More 'originally cast as':
In MIB, Chris O'Donnell was first choice for Agent J
In Bad Boys, IIRC, Jon Lovitz and David Spade were first choices rather than Will Smith and Martin Lawrence.

Had that last one gotten through, what kind of ****e would Bad Boys have been? Not to mention Bad Boys 2!

When JFK was assinated in Texas, it wasn't actually a crime to assinate the president!

Perter Jackson makes a cameo in both FoTR and TTT (dunno about RoTK yet). In FoTR, he is eating a carrot when the hobbits enter Bree. in TTT, he hurls a spear at the approaching orcs on the causeway. Billy Jackson, Peter's son, also makes 2 cameos. He is one of the children listening to Bilbo's story about the trolls (also the only one not wearing a wig to make his hair curly) and in TTT, he is in the caves behind Helm's Deep.

Absinthe is the only alcholic drink that acts as a halucinogenic as well. Its the wormwood ;)

Please don't mention absinthe. *shudder* I am still thinking I hallucinated most of that night... *shudder*

Did you know that staring at the computer screen per se does not tire your eyes, but the fact that you don't blink as often as you should does?

It's hard to catch a cold in Antarctica - the germs can't survive there long enough mostly.

Mary Poppins was born in Maryborough in Australia. Though I'm not sure if it was Maryborough in Queensland or Victoria.

[IMG] Here's a long one, but you might enjoy it:

    Did you know ...

That in December 1861, there was a huge natural disaster in Sacramento that destroyed nearly every building and killed a large percentage of the population.

The swollen American River, tore through the levee and hit the city with what was described as a wall of water moving as fast as a tornado. A large number of buildings were pulled off their foundations and the city lived for weeks on rooftops soaked with rain and watching the bodies of animals and people float by.

Anyway, at this point some other cities starting to say that Sacramento should be abandoned and that the capital of California should be located elsewhere. Sacramentans conceded that they could not construct a levee strong enough to keep the rivers at bay. So a strange idea gripped the community - raise the city above the flood line!

As a result, Sacramento started one of the strangest construction jobs in U.S. history - every street and every building was raised by 10 feet (about 3 meters). Buildings were raised on jackscrews and then the filled in below by gravel and clay dredged from the river beds. Some buildings converted their first floor into a basement and the second story to the main level.

Here's the fun part. :) There were tunnels and secret rooms buried under the streets - and the true number is still a mystery. In the 1860's, the Gold Rush was still going strong, and their may be treasure hidden under Sacramento's streets.

Sacramentans call this undercity, the "catacombs".

In the original version of The Grimm Brothers' "The Frog Prince" the frog was not kissed and then turned into a Prince, he was thrown against a wall as hard as could be managed, knocked unconscious, and woke up as a Prince.
