Good ideas, I think, although number two could get annoying after a while. But, it depends on how many items there are. If there are a ton, then yes, you should impliment this, but other than that, no.

Also, I never gave prices for my items... but no one else did either... are you taking care of those or not?

Please don't subdivided the store. I know there's going to be a ton of stuff, but why complicate things if you don't have to?

I like the idea of a quest in ToB. Maybe collecting a set number of +3 weaponry that most people are annoyed with finding. :hmm: A take off of the bridgekeeper in Holy Grail?

    Tal: What is your name?
    PC: <insert name here>
Tal: What is your favorite color?
    PC: <list colors, choice doesn't matter>
Tal: Here is your quest: Find me 5 long swords +3, 5 axes +3 and 100 sling bullets +4.
PC: Why? You have all of these wonderful items!
Tal: Well, I ran a bit short thanks to my imp here, going klepto and hiding the 'shiny ones'.

    Ah, just some silliness.

    Here's two more ideas:

    The Pale Master's Vengeance

While the true fate of The Order of The Scorpion remains unknown even to this day, some writings of the clan have resurfaced. Unfortunatly, they were all written in ancient Netherese and no one was able to translate them. However, a passage written in common kept mentioning about the coming of "The New Order". Thought to be only the ramblings of a madman, the writs were quickly discarded.

However, the fate of the Grandmaster of The Order of the Scorpion, Shadow Scorpion, was never know. It is widely known and commonly accepted that he died in the war between their order and the Dying Light. However, residents of the Icewind Dale, as well as Dying Light operators, swear they saw the blood-chilling assassin roaming the Dale. Sightings became more and more frequent, until the day the current Grandmaser of the Dying Light stumbled upon the fallen Grandmaster himself.

While his former profession was despiscable, his new one was even more: he had become a foul, despicable Pale Master. For many years he waged wars against the Dying Light, seeking vengeance for his fallen guild. He raised armies of undead, and drove the Dying Light to quasi-extinction before disappearing again.

His current fate is still unknown. Some say that after crushing the Dying Light, he returned to the Plane of Shadows where his Legions of the Dead wage war on the enemies of the Shadovar, and that he helps prepare the return of the Shadovar to the Prime Material plane. Some other tales say that he ultimately ascended as a lich, and then became a demilich...

The ivory staff reeks of evil magic and is a testament to the Legacy of the foul Pale Master. The souls of many warriors have been trapped in the staff, and can be raised as Undead when the need arises.

    STATS:
Damage: 1D6+4, +1D4 Negative (or 1D4 cold if Negative is not possible)
    Special abilities:
    Raise Dead 3x/Day
    -5 Charisma
    Immunity to Level Drain
    Weight: 5
    Speed Factor: 3
    Requires: 16 Intelligence
    Only Usable By: Necromancer
    Type: Staff

    The New Order

This black leather armor radiates powerful magic. It is rumored to be the very leather that The New Order wore during the second war against the Dying Light. The origins of the armor are nebulous. Some beleive that it is The New Order's ancient armor, enchanted to be more useful in his new profession, and some other beleive that the leather was a gift from Most High Telamont, the ruler of Shade, given to The New Order prior to his return to the Prime Material plane.

The leather is almost unnaturally flexible, and does not hinder spellcasting. The armor has been attoned to Necromancy spells, and when worn, the user is surrounded with a force field that renders Necromancy spells casted against the wearer useless.

How did the armor left his possession is object to much speculation... some beleive that The New Order returned to the Plane of Shadow, and was gifted a more potent robe by Telamont, discarding the leather. Some other says that he ultimately ascended to become a demilich...

    Special Abilities:
    Does not disable spellcasting
    Vocalize
    Immunity to Necromancy Spells
    AC: 7
    Weight: 8
    Requires: 10 Strength
    Usable by: Necromancer
    Type: Studded Leather

    @ Saber

Yes, I have Malovae working on making a list of item prizes.

    @ Kuemper

 It's actually an idea to requires the party to give x + y items, and x + z items, etc... That could be one thing opening either a quest, or a special items selection.

Concerning sub-dividing the store, alá ToEE masterwork items, you don't seem too happy about it. The store will, hopefully, end up with ~100 items, I will instead try to gather the items so first x, then y, then z is listed correctly..

    @ Felinoid

    :p I'll PM you, then.

    @ TNO

Please state the item types in the stats selection, as I rarely bother to read the background descriptions (those are forwarded to The Magpie), and would have an easier time deciding what to do with the item(s).

Concerning the Armour (spotted that as it was in the beginning of the text), It sounds interesting. If the First item is a stave, then Malovae have to look at it, when he sober up tomorrow, as he is already looking at some specialized mage staves...

@olimikrig: OH! Sorry. I can't beleive I forget to indicate the item type! I have fixed it. Yes, it's a specialist mage staff, Malovae might be interested in it. I did my best not to make it overpowered. The leather was my answer to the sterotype of mages wearing only robes... if you think it is overpowered, then I can crank it down.

Yes please! :thumb: It'd involve breaking the wall somewhat, as they say, but I don't care in this instance 'cause it sounds neat!

Quest sounds neat! But please, please don't sub-divide the store! I'm happy how it is. And when it starts to have more things, like Oli said, it should be organized. other than that, those are good ideas. :)

I was more in favour of the store opening up into new divisions in later chapters but but it doesnt have much support...

Oh well, you will all have to deal with heavy prices then  Not too high though so don't worry

Actually, I think it'd be a unique kind of twist to have separate sections for armor, weapons, etc. (If I've understood correctly what we're talking about.)

Ah, Malovae, you're alive! What do you think of my specialist mage Staff? Oli said you'd probably be interested in it.

Raise Dead is an interesting thought for a necromancer. that spell is usually left for cleric types but I think it would work :)

The staffs i'm making will ahve immunity to their oppisite spell schools so that would have to replace the level drain imm. Also I'm not adding any negative effects.

Tell you what, I'll merge your idea with mine, especially because I like the idea of raise dead :) As well as the cold damage.

Well then, Malovae, this sounds like a deal. What about the name of the staff? Shall we keep my "Pale Master's Vengeance" or do you have another name to suggest that might work as well? And what about the background description?

However, something bothers me. Giving the staff immunity to Illusion (the opposite school), added to the immunity to necromancy from the leather seems a bit of an overkill to me...

Necromancers cannot use things like invisibility and other illusion spells so the staff is not that over powered. I don't plan on making the leather as I'm focusing on items that are missing from the mod. oli might take that one up :) Like i've said before I am working on 7 staffs for the spell schools which will ahve an immunity to their oppisite school. The immunity to divination will be the most powerful potentially in the hands of a thief with UAI so I'll have to safeguard like i diid with Malovaes Defence Orb from thieves. Or I can make it a non-backstabbing weapon... hmm thats an idea :) Anyway, your item is staying the way it is but i'm not putting -5 penaly to cha, will add a few more abilities and lower its enchantment to a +3. Only the wild mage staff will be a +4.

Feel free to tweak it as you see fit, as long as the name and description I wrote stays, everything is mighty fine with me. I am a little reluctant to see immunity to level drain go, but immunity to Illusion is a fair replacement.

    Starlight

During the Age of Eternal Night, light became as prized a commodity as iron. Mages and sorcerers who could cast Light spells were in great demand, as was any item that generated its own light. Most of these, however, would not have approached the power or usefulness of this halberd. Not only does its blade radiate a soft, pleasant glow in the darkness, it surrounds its bearer with a preserving aura. Heroes in times past probably made use of both of these properties to fight the monsters, undead, and evil outsiders that terrorized the Age of Eternal Night. That Age is long gone, but the weapon retains its powers for use by the heroes of today.

    STATISTICS:

    Equipped abilities:
    +1 bonus to all saves
Casts Regeneration (as per the cleric spell) once per day

    Enchantment: +2
    THAC0: +2 bonus
    Damage: 1D10 + 2
    Damage type: Slashing, Piercing
    Weight: 8
Speed Factor: 6 (? Can't remember what halberds' speed factors are offhand)
    Proficiency Type: Halberd
    Type: 2-handed
    Requires: 13 Strength
    Not Usable By:
    Druid
    Mage
    Thief
    Cleric
    Monk

Oli, for the leather I have suggested, what armor design do you intend to use? I think it would look good with either Shadow Dragon Scale or Armor of Deep Night, what do you think?
