    At the risk of sounding like a bastard, I don't feel sorry for Haley. Sure, she's one of the best characters in the strip, but considering that she's been acting like a total moron for the last 100 strips or so she really had it coming. I mean yes, she doesn't like Belkar, he is a psycho, etc etc etc. But she knew she was against overwhelming odds, knew that she needed someone's help (and that Celia was not going to be any use when fighting breaks) and still refuses to to remove Belkar's curse? On the idiotic excuse that "it's his fault, let him suffer"? Even though this could (and almost did) lead to her own death? Even though she's been going on and on about how she only takes responsibility for own actions and has repeatedly demonstrated that she values a positive outcome far more than what is "deserved"?

    That said, the last strip was a downer. I was expecting that entire hallucination to have some effect on Belkar, but from the way things are going it hasn't done anything at all.

    Splunge, I would argue that the sneak attack was a result of being flanked. The assassin girl (Crystal, is it?) wasn't 4 or more levels higher than Haley, but the leader of the guild was, so he got the flanking bonus on his attack. That's why he gloated about having "rapid level advancement".

    That's why they renamed it "sneak attacks" from "backstab".

    Belkar is awesome.

    @Ziad: the impression I get is that Belkar is going to turn from "crazy maniac" to "subdued crazy maniac who acts like he's normal", which would be a big step for him character-wise.
