Dr No and From Russia With Love.

I actually noticed that Bond never turned off the tap in the bathroom of the bridal suite in Istanbul hotel. I guess Tatiana Romanova would make anyone forget about such a trivial thing but still that bothered me. Go figure. :p

In the original cut, all of Istanbul was flooded; that's how Bond took care of the bad guys.

Over the weekend, I saw Silence of the Lambs, Straw Dogs, Boondock Saints, and Chinatown (spectacular, by the way).

Yesterday I watched Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, which was brilliant and I'd gush over it if I hadn't just watched the anime series of Narutaru. It's possibly the most horrifying, tragic, and genuinely upsetting story I know, and it's beaten all the will to gush out of me.

    Edit:
Wasn't going to watch this tonight due to the angst-overload induced by Narutaru but circumstances conspired. I just finished watching Battle Royale. I dunno, left me kinda unaffected. Nowhere near as good as the manga, where almost every character was thoroughly developed and every time a sympathetic character died it felt like a punch in the gut.

I need to find some non-soul-destroying things to read/watch...

    Saw in the theater...

SHERLOCK HOLMES, I've basically went with the fact that this ain't gonna be the Holmes and Watson we used to know and it turned out to be quite enjoyeable.

    On DVD...
A PERFECT GETAWAY, I actually loved this film. Quite thrliing and the tracks were nicely covered right from the start. Also, my first time to actually I like Tim Olyphant's acting.

TRUE ROMANCE, wow, why didn't I know about this movie before.

    Nice one Saber. :D

You're lucky, I have to wait until February to see this movie. I don't know why it takes them so long to release it over here.

I've watched Goldfinger, it's definitely my favourite Bond movie.

T'was Guy Ritchie's birthday gift to me. It was deliberately shown here on same day Elvis and I celebrated our birthdays. :D

@Nior: Lucky, lucky, lucky you. I wish I had been so lucky for my birthday. ;)

Anyway, not being able to sleep at night sure leaves some time to watch movies. I've watched Body of Lies which I've found quite interesting although it was obvious to me that it was shot in Morocco and not in the Middle East. Vicky Cristina Barcelona which was ok but felt a bit too long at times, definitely not the best of Allen's recent movies.

Last but not least, I watched another Bond movie and since I'm watching them in the right order it had to be Thunderball. I love the opening of this movie. It may look a bit dated but it's still awesome.

    Watched 2 oldies yesterday.

Crocodile Dundee. ("That's not a knife. This is a knife!")

    And

    Highlander.

    "There can be only one!"

I wish they would have followed that rule instead of making more movies and TV series on that concept.

Just watched Kiki's Delivery Service. It was nice, but not great. Very light and fluffy.

You Only Live Twice, the opening sequence is always as enjoyable. :)

No Country for Old Men, Javier Bardem's performance brings a lot to the movie (especially considering that I had watched Vicky Cristina Barcelona a few days ago, the contrast was just incredible).

Crying Freeman, an underrated movie if there was one. I've just realized Tcheky Karyo was dubbed by Ron Perlman in that movie. It's a pity since I don't think Tcheky Karyo's accent would have ruined his performance.

Yeah, and the theme to You Only Live Twice is great too, I think. :)

I agree, Crying Freeman is really good.

Saw The Prestige yesterday with Hugh Jackman and Christian Bale. I really like that.

This evening I saw Crocodile Dundee II. Nice to see that again.

Drag Me To Hell. Pretty scary, actually. Mostly the shock/pop-out kind though. Couple of Evil Dead-like goofy moments, and I predicted the ending easily, but it was still enjoyable.

3-Iron by Kim Ki-duk - Loved this. Brilliant director, brilliant movies. Samaritan Girl next.

Zombieland - Well, it wasn't the second coming of zombie-movies...More like a teen comedy, with zombies. Entertaining though, pretty decent, but he expectations were higher, and this film couldn't quite fulfill those expectations...

I like most James Bond themes but I agree that this one stands out. :)

I've just watched On Her Majesty's Secret Service, it would definitely have been the best Bond movie if Connery had starred in it. To be fair Lazenby wasn't that bad but he couldn't compete with Connery's presence on screen.

I've also watched Big Trouble in Little China. Some of the best lines I've ever heard are in that movie: "It's all in the reflexes." :p

The Beach came on telly tonight - I hadn't seen it in a while and I didn't know it was a Danny Boyle film!

Robert Carlyle is great in it :D

Given that native tribes in the Amazon forest yet untouched by Western civilization have heard of James Bond that is quite a feat indeed. :shake:

I've watched two more Bond films. Diamonds Are Forever which I like a lot despite some plotholes, it's actually a very funny movie (people tend to associate humour in Bond films with the Roger Moore era). Live and Let Die, the first Bond with Moore and probably one of his best. As different as Moore was from Connery he definitely was a perfect alternative for the franchise. The crocodile scene in this movie is just awesome.

Well that, and the theme to The Spy Who Loved Me. "Nobody Does It Better" by Carly Simon. Awesome!

But then again that was the first James Bond movie I saw. The Sean Connery era was later for me.

And I just had to go out and buy that submarine Lotus model car. Hey! I was 11 okay? :D

Anyway for me that is still the best James Bond movie Moore starred in.

But Live and Let die is really good too. Yaphet Kotto as villain? Oh, yeah.

Yeah, love that movie. Makes me laugh everytime. :)
