[IMG] The Oracle said that Neo and Smith were mirrors of each other...A Yin and Yang, if you will. So it's not surprising Smith has the same powers...with the added bonus of being a virus too.

A thought just occurred to me (scary that) but wouldn't Neo be able to copy himself as well in that case? Or maybe over-write some Smiths?

I didn't like it that much. Some scenes were 'heh, thats cool' but there wasn't any of the first movie's flair.

    Certain scenes I liked:
    Gun-check room
    Smith vs. Neo real world
    Some parts of the siege

However I have to agree with some of Judas' comments.
    The biblical allusions were 'in-your-face'.
The whole Trinity-Neo love reminders got boring and we understood from the 2nd Matrix Installment from the (pointless) sex scene - they love each other and would die for each other, we understand, stop reminding us.
The ATMs (is that what they were called? - mech-warrior ripoffs) didn't do it for me. They have these advanced turreting systems for the ships and they can EMP blast after shutting down all electronics. Why doesn't Zion have a large EMP emitter? All they have to do is cut the power to everything then send out a blast. They put it on ships, obviously they can make a stationary one. The mech-warriors don't have frontal armor yet they easily could have as mentioned before with the turreting system on the ships.
It's not explained 'how' Neo defeated Smith. Smith absorbs Neo, Smith explodes.
After Smith is killed why would the machines honor the peace? It's mentioned at the end that there are humans leaving the Matrix at will and the machines aren't allowed to stop them. What is the point of this? I only see the humans profiting from the peace at the expense of the machines. Any computer thinking system with little or no emotion/compassion would calculate the obvious loss for no potential gain and simply eliminate the humans.
Machine siege tactics: waste as many sentinels as possible by forming large condensed swarms and moving around slowly so that the humans can shoot us.

Overall a very enjoyable popcorn movie, with enough action to make it not boring. Sure there were some bad points, but the action blew them away for me.

Well, i just got back from seeing it... and I loved it...

I went into the cinema with a very pessimistic attitude, as I thought reloaded was a horrible horrible little setback in the Wachawakakakchowiskazaksi Brothers storytelling... and damn, did this movie make up for it.

The action sequences actually held my attention this time, instead of just boring me, and since it isn't the original matrix, I will begin my analysis with the action sequences that stuck out to me and did it for me...

**MOST LIKELY SPOILERS WHICH WILL MAKE YOU CRY**

Gun check room - usual matrix affair to keep everything in order, but with a little spin on things... still no lobby scene, but very cool nontheless, and that monk guy is like, my second favourite character.

Mrs Will Smith - her piloting skills made my jaw drop... the whole scene with the ship flying down the colon-tight tube, with tracer bullets ripping the sentinels to shreds.... awesome

battle of zion - i didn't much care for seeing links wife and sinead o connor blowing up the drilling rigs... but the fights between those mechs and and sentinels looks awesome... and the general guy who spends all his time shouting, and shooting sentinels from the most dramatic pose he can imagine has the most nasty facial wound i have ever seen.... made the whole thing worthwhile. i didnt like that guys death speech to that stupid kid though (who sucks at acting i might add) i thought it was far too patriotic and generic thankyouverymuch.

neo vs smith (real) - was alright, just a regular fight... the eye bit made me laugh because keanu finally got bitten... i hate that guy as much as trinity, i thought the seeing without eyes was alright, but acted as more of a plot device, than a means to an end, and the blindness didnt really serve an actual purpose.

neo vs smith (matrix) - :D :spin:

    YESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYESYES

The fight was awesome... i loved everything about it, i've got nothing to say about it apart from YES.

Other stuff that was cool -

    trinity being killed

    neo possibly being killed

the liberal amounts of plot devices between the effects

the part when all the mechs put their arms in the air, i laughed

    stuff i disliked:

    trinity

    neo

the new oracle lady, her voice grated

the plot holes.... anybody wanna quote me and question me, i am happy to discuss this movie lots and lots.

I agree - the third was not a masterpiece but it was an enjoyable action film. It certainly wasn't a bloated, ugly, overpretentious, boring piece of trash like the second one. Can someone please explain what was the plot of reloaded exactly?

reloaded was a two hour 3d Mark to make sure the computer systems were up to scratch for making Revolutions... then somebody released it to make a couple of bucks.... personally, i think the whole six-month-gap thing was a bit of a failure on a local scale... i went to see reloaded about a week after release and the cinema was packed.... then i saw it again about a fortnight later, and it was still packed.... last night was a friday and i went to see revolutions, i know it aint been out long, but there were about a dozen and a half people in there watching it... i think everybody has had enough... revolutions is a cool movie, but i am sick and tired of seeing neo and his crew bullet timing about and talking about the choices they have to make... STOP THINKING OUT LOUD AND JUST DO IT... </end rant>

I think I would enjoy it a lot more if there was more of the actually Matrix in it. Frankly, I couldn't give a rat's ass about giant mechanical squids and badly designed robots when you could have out-of-this-world Kung-fu!
