    6-0.

Though S&M did give itself up, Argentina still is the team taht will win this WC most likely.

Ok, all you Swedes and English and others who keep claiming that their football teams suck, did you see the S&M play? Now that, my friends was truly AWFUL. You are all beginners, we are the throne of suckiness

Vamo' vamo', Argentinaaaa, vamo' vamoooo a ganaaaaaaaaar....

What a game, beatiful goals... yep, maybe S&M isn't a very good team, but neither are T&T, Paraguay... we made 6... others barely score 1 or 2...
But of course, no matter how, a win is a win.

Man, that was a penalty for Ivory Coast!!!

Yep. Should have been a penalty.
Nasty first half, btw. Unfriendly, imo. Schwalbe by Robben. Drogba putting his foot at Van der Sar's head.
Quite a tense, though. And, as ever, Oranje is playing less fiercely when they have scored. Might end up nasty some time.

Too bad if Ivory Coast has to go home, they put much more effort than many other 'top' teams, even tho you can't win with just effort...

Phew! That was close. Undeserved win, though. Exciting match, imo. Unprecise playing by Oranje. Ivories were the better. Some odd decisions by the ref at times, like giving no (red) cards at times.
Edit: Robben was disappointing. Van Persie and Van Bommel were good, as well as many Ivorians. Too bad they have to leave.

I don't think that game deserved any red cards.
It's a shame for Ivory Coast to go out, but when you can't put the ball in the back of the net after having long period of play, then you're not going to win football matches. I feel for them though. If they were in some of the other groups, they'd have qualified.

I can live with ugly games, as long as we keep winning i don't give a ****e. :D We've reached the final 16, we've made it through the group of death, and for now that's all that matters.

And now if you'll excuse me, i'm going to get complety wasted. :D

Most WC are not won pretty. Pretty teams often go home early.

BTW, a bit late, Rooney played. Maybe it was the altar.

So did Messi, and what a comeback he had, one goal and one assist.

It's easy to look good when you come on and your side is cruising, your opponent has already given in and is down to 10 men. I think Mr. Blobby could have come on in that match and looked good.

Its a commonly used as slang for/slur of Italians/Spanish/Portugese.

Means something along the lines that an Italian works for a DAY and then wants to GO on vacation.

    Errr... didn't he mean Diego's? Maradona's boys?
    Well, I'm probably wrong...
Almost every English hate us because of "la mano de Dios" (hand of God). :p

Messi did enter to a game that was almost done; so did Rooney... so did Robinho... none of them scored.

Daygo - it's what we call Argies. Never heard it used for anyone else!!

I think it originally spawned from us calling them lazy gits (you know, day - go...) but now it's just used all the time. Come on, everyone has a slang for other nations!

You're right Barmy; I know slang for lots of other nations, didn't know how other people call to us, except for Paraguas (slang for Paraguayans) who call us "curepas".

Oh, Sydax. English people don't 'hate' Argentinians. I like Argies! Got nothing against them! There's a certain rivalry between our two nations which can only come from loads of really close and important football matches. Whenever us two play, even if it's a 'friendly', the will to win is MASSIVE. It's one of the biggest rivalries in world football. But we don't dislike Argentinians, we respect them really. We like to share some banter but it's all in good jest. No ill-feeling.

The only person we don't really like is Diego Maradona, because of certain things he did in his life and career (like cheat and take drugs). But still, even then, we recognise brilliance when we see it and any 'jibes' are always given with a hint of respect. Truth be told, Diego Maradona is better than any player we have ever produced!
