OK, here goes:

Well, it involves language again, but this time the english language. Other than that, just pick it apart. Every line is a clue. They all lead to the same place. You could, theoretically, solve it from any one line, but that may not be likely.

The question is "Where does it come from?" not "What is it?"

 

How about more of a clue for us morons who can't read? A simple 'No' would've sufficed.

Yeah, that really helps, NOG. Are we to pick out letters of each line or mush the answers to each line into one item? Animal, vegetable or mineral?

An arrow isn't a stanger's whisper, but I can see where you got that. Look at lethargy. STUDY it. Also, think the other end of Achillies's life.

 

Unless lethargy is an anagram, I don't see much. My initial thought was one of the rivers of Hades, either Styx or Lethe, but neither made sense with the rest. But, you said you don't want what it is, but where it is from. From what I read the source of the Lethe river is a cave in Lebadeia.

Close enough. The answer is Hades, or more specifically, the Ellysian Fields.

A stranger's whisper: well, most dead people are strangers.
The source of lethargy: Lethe is the root from which we get the word lethargy. In mythology, anyone who drank of the river Lethe would loose all memory of their mortal life.
Achillies was dipped into the river Styx when he was a baby, too young to remember, thus he never knew what he may have heard at the time.
As you said, the rivers Styx and Lethe border Hades, thus any whispers crossing them, to us, must come from Hades.

aww... you should have told me painter was wrong but I was on the right line of reasoning so far. I mean, I didn't even get the right get the right 8 letter word in the end. I was just starting to puzzle it out and hoped someone else could finish my thoughts.
