    OK. You have five pairs of black gloves and five pairs of blue gloves in a drawer. In complete darkness, how many gloves must you take from the drawer in order to be sure to get a matching pair?

    If you take out one glove, and that one is say blue, and you take out two more gloves (for the other hand), and those two happen to be black, three can't be the answer.

    Since there are 5 right hand black gloves, and 5 left hand blue gloves, you would need to take out one, say, left hand glove, and 6 right hand gloves, in order to be certain that you get a matching pair (one left and one right). The light may be off but you can still feel which glove fits which hand.

    In complet darkness, blue is black. It would match in darkness while it would not match in light and so you just need a right and left hand glove to make a pair.

    OK wise guys -- to clarify, you find out whether they match when you turn the light on. Also, once you touch a glove you are deemed to have removed it from the drawer, so you cannot tell by feel which is which. Happy? Someone cough up the right answer.

    It's not six as I said, that would be the correct answer if there were five of each rather than five pairs...

    The correct answer is eleven... I think...
