Onomatopoeia, if that's spelled right, though not the letters suggested.

What work is it that the faster you work,
The longer it is before you're done
    And the slower you work,
    The sooner you're finished? :hmm:

Any job you're paid to do--you work fast, they give you more to do, you work slow, you get your ass fired...

It's not a job of sorts. It has to do with food.

Some food with inverted cooking time. Perhaps something that only cooks at low temperatures... like what?

And AllDevourer is the winner! Roasting meat of any kind is correct. What a great first post.

I don't understand that at all. What do you mean the faster you work the longer it is before your done? Faster is faster.

When you cook something fast, you tend to burn the food so it takes longer to cook because you need to clean up, start over and wait. Ever hear of Haste makes waste?

That doesn't make any sense because it therefore applies to everything that you try to do in a hurry.

Most things can be done quickly and still well, but with roasting all you can do to cut the time is up the heat, and that's a screwup right there.

No, with roasting animals, if you spin it on the stick, the faster you spin, the longer it takes to cook, because you are moving the section that is getting cooked away too quickly. If you let each side sit for a little while, it'll cook faster.

Of course, thats for roasting on a spit.

Coming across this on accident, I figured I'd go ahead and do it. So . . . riddle, riddle . . . here's one:
In a kingdom long ago and far away there was only one punishment for any crime - death. But they were a fair people and let you choose your form of execution. You would make one statement, and if it was true, you would be hung; if it was false, you would be shot. Yes they had guns long ago and far away. Anyway, one man was found guilty, made his statement, and they had to set him free. What did he say?

He didn't say anything, so therefore, it couldn't be true nor false, so he could be neither hung nor shot.
