    As BTA stated, I don't think it's much different than alcohol. If you get behind the wheel drunk, and get into an accident, potentially killing somoene, you are not absolved because you were intoxicated. Quite to the contrary in fact - you're probably in even MORE trouble because you were drunk. While driving regulations are the most obvious, I'm not aware of any other crime one can commit where you can get out of it by being drunk, so I don't see why those same rules wouldn't apply to someone who was baked.

    Having said that, I'm OK with legalizing pot, provided that they do the same thing with pot as they do with alcohol and cigarettes - tax the hell out of it.

    Being drunk will not get you off on murder. Crack and Heroin can cause hallucinations. I would think a defense would argue that to lessen charges at the least...

    I thought we were only talking about pot. Like you, I wouldn't necessarily support the legalization of a lot of other drugs.

    I wouldn't have a problem with them legalising marijuna & this coming from an old school conservative :)
    As has been proven in the past, prohibition don't work.
