Parents: Current sole monetary resource, nothing else.

Once I get my degree, I'll work part-time, take on multiple jobs, anything just to ditch em. A family is a burden, I say.

Other than that, I bear them little ill will, merely well-disguised contempt.

Mother? Would never want to eliminate her!!

"Father" on the other hand? I've wanted to in one way or another almost every day for the last 20 years or so. Reason? Physically abused mum, cheated on her like nothing else, abandoned us when I was 4 or 5 and my brother and sister were about 6 or 7 and 2 respectively. Could never actually do anythign about it though so I just refer to him as "the sperm donor". Theoretically eliminating him from my life.
Though lately with my problems over the last 5 years seeing my own eldest son I have wanted to confront him. I mean he never even tried to contact us so I just want to know why?

Oh well, can't have everything I guess...

The internet abuse is just one of hundreds of things similar. If any of you lived in my home for a week, I can just about guarantee that you would feel exactly the same way as I do. I want to eliminate my dad constantly. Again, you would too if you lived here, trust me!

NOTE: I have no such feelings or attitues whatsoever towards good, kind, and caring people.

And for you people who take things way too seriosly, I would never actually do it. I have no wish to spend the rest of my life in jail because my parents were stupid and cruel and I got too angry. Those of you who are good parents to your children deserve nothing of this sort, and if you are, then you probably don't get it!

@ Aikanaro -- My Dad's done that too! Except he just got mad at me, and didn't unplug it except to yell at me until I got off and then he grounded me for a week. He was arguing with my sister and I laughed in the middle of it and he blew up at me. He's cooled down about those kind of incidents since then though because I always wear headphones so it's really not my fault for ignoring their fights.

@ DMC -- Not all parents are loving rational parents. Thankfully, mine are but as for not doing things just to piss (teenagers) off. . . My Dad delights in teasing me to the extremes. Now unlike many many many American teenagers, I haven't developed an inferiority complex from it (God knows why) and I actually take it for granted. But he really does do it just to annoy me. He's well-known for placing a fan in my direction and blowing bubbles at me for 2 endless hours while I try to type as my keyboard gets slicker and bubblier by the second. (2 minutes of bubbles is fun. 2 hours of bubbles and you're drenched in soap and your keyboard no longer works right) And he's also well-known for randomly coming up and licking my nose. . . Just to annoy me.

And as for the internet not being everything; although this is true, for me I actually do need the internet. I'm taking 4 (out of 5) of my classes online and the only way I get to talk to a lot of my friends without my parents driving an hour (or more) so I could go see them is by being on the internet. So yes, I'm a cyber geek -- I need the internet. And besides that, I do a lot of writing on the computer; while talking to my friends, listening to music, checking emails and the news, so a lot of times I don't look like I'm doing something important when I am and so my Dad might get mad at me and kick me off without listening to my side first. I'm not going to say that I'm always rational and logical when we get in fights (I'm not, I tend to go into hysterics when I get really upset) but parents aren't always the rational ones either.

But I actually do agree with the parents a little; communication is key in everything and generally parents have good reasons for taking away privelages. And if they're being reasonable, the situation can usually be adjusted. (For instance my Mom likes to ground us all whenever the living room is cluttered. But if we clean up the living room, we're no longer grounded. Very simple thing, takes maybe 5 minutes but worth a good 7 hours of peace.)
