[IMG] I bought XP Home Edition Update on Monday, because W98 was driving me crazy the last weeks, and i can only recommend it.

First i did an update installation on W98 just for test reasons and after about 35 minutes and only 1 reboot everything was working fine. It only listed 2 older progs to be reinstalled to work fine again.

Then i formated my c partition with NTFS and did a new install, though i had no PS2 device pluged (a big problem in W98 if you have Keyb and Mouse USB) it lasts only 25 minute till i had a virgin OS running.

A quater of an hour later i had my homenetwork ready again to share my ADSL connection.
Honestly i have to admit that the manual configuration of the ICS is discribed in a computer magazine, but if you know where MS has now hidden the options it is very simple to configure.

As far as i can criticize it by now i would say a very good OS (It's hard to believe it comes from MS :D) and, most important, the awful colour orgie can be set to "classic windows look" very easy. ;)

I'll just add a comment that MS expected better sell...

    Noone is buying new crap!

For billionth time - if everything works in your current OS and newer one does not provide something you NEED and you'll DIE FOR: keep the old one! At least you know how to deal it's well known bugs.

[IMG] I had ME - which was total crap!!! I had a huge memory loss while running applications. I've had XP pro for about 2 weeks, and so far (knock on wood) I haven't had any major disappointments.

[IMG] I just got a trial of the professional version, but I have not had time to install it and mess around with it.

I heard only problems by installing Windows XP/ Don't go for it yet... until a better version (second edition) is out.
