It'sa called the 'warrior instinct' brovas! :D

To tell the truth you know the PC must have Tymora on his/her side to survive through all he/she does and all the people that are after him/her.

Picture yourself as Ao saying "nope, I don't want it to happen like that" *kicks the clock*.

Another way I rationalize my pre-preparation for battles is to always keep spells that I use for only certain battles memorized all the time. Things like lower resistance or breach for example. While there are few enemies worth lowering the resistance of, I always memorize this spell two or three times, even if I don't think I'm going to use it. That way there, at least I can say I was prepared ahead of time.

I think you just could try different strategies each time you play, as you cannot avoid knowing where and when are you going to fight.

"The above argument really could justify it because you have the blood of Bhaal in you for god's sake, and Bhaal foresaw his own death in the time of trouble's which is the whole reason charname was ever created by Bhaal, if he diden't see the future there would simply be no Charname and no Bauldurs Game. The point I am trying to make is that Bhaal forsaw his own death and you are one of his children, so since you have some special Bhaal powers, then why not the ability to detect ambushes shortly before it happens?"

But did Bhaal know EXACTLY WHO would kill him, HOW he would die, WHEN it would happenn, etc.? Besides that, by your logic, you could also justify using Shadowkeeper to give your character six 25s and all 1s for saving throws. :p
