    High Charisma actually lowers the price. Just make your mage the party leader, give him ring of human influence and caste friends on yourself. However, if your reputation is too high (19 or 20), then it doesn't work. Guess there is a limit to which shopkeepers will lower the price.

    Shivi is right about Charisma.. Also Reputation has influence on the price ( If your Rep is 9 and Char 18, youll get higher prices than at Rep 18 and Char 15-16 )

    How many tomes can be found in BG ? ( dont want to start new topic )
    I think it goes like +1 STR, +1DEX. +2CON, +1INT,+3WIS,+1CHAR ??
    Did I miss something ??

    Nope. There also aren't any ways to permanently raise an stats in SoA (except on one hell trial). Unfortunately, there are ways to permanently LOSE a point to a stat. In ToB, there's Lum's Machine which can each of your stats by one point.

    In my experience, Charisma does lower shop prices, but the effect seems to be capped at 21. I have had characters (through the use of items i.e. nymph's cloak, helm of glory, etc.) get a 24 charisma and didn't notice any difference from 21 to 24. Maybe 25 gives a bonus. Haven't tried.

    The question is, why is the Charisma the prime requisite of paladins and bards if it doesn't do anything? (Besides roleplaying)

    [​IMG] I guess, since they couldn't find any other use of Charisma, they made it a prime requisite for some of the classes.
    Getting ring of human influence early in the game makes charisma even less valuable. I guess, the game would have been better without it.
