Ok, well I'm at still at chapter 3 just uncovering maps (its an obsession) but the story have slowed down or so it seems, I know I should search for bandits and that is the next thing I intent on doing, but still, there haven't been much story to tell yet. Will it speed up later on ? I was expecting much more at this point.

What I wanted to know is, how does cleric get her spells? Auto at each level or? When I think about it I haven't tried "teaching" her spells yet :/

I was crashing on one enemy earlier, but managed to get past it by killing him before he got off his magic (which seemed to crash the game). It was some ogre-mage IIRC.

Oh and yeah Elminster showed up again, telling me it was him this time :p Nice cameo.

I met this girl "Pallonia" at Lighthouse map. She was talking about forces around "us". She was talking about Amn and about this City up north where it is winter all the time... It sounded really interesting. So will I get to experience all of that or is it just a "filler" of some kind?

    Off I go :)

Clerics and druids get a full set of spells each time they gain a new spell level. (which is roughly at every two levels till some point.) You can not 'teach' them spells.

@Melhisedek: You don't actually get to go through Amn or to the far North in BG, she was likely just adding atmosphere.

Read the manual in regards to divine spellcasting. When you are of sufficient level to cast another level of spells, then all spells of that level will become available. There is no need to learn from scrolls. They are memorised in the same way as mage spells.

The story will obviously slow down if you wander off into maps not actually directly part of the plot. The only way to advance the plot is to visit parts of the game which have plot elements in them.

You have to memorize spells with your cleric as with your mage.
Click at the cleric, click at the cleric scroll symbol and select the spells you want to memorize for the 3 spell levels.
After resting you should be able to cast them.

That is clear to me (memorizing part) but there are no healing spells at 3rd or 4th lvl. None that I can see in any case :(

Now that's the way to play BG! You just need to add a tank in the front to murder people with a two-handed sword!

Thats whats my uber pally for :) -4 AC. He is rarely hit :)

Anyway so it is normal that my cleric has only level 1 healing spell? While she is lvl 6 (Branwen that is)

Also do you guys bother with picking things up from the ground? I have like 54k gold and 100s of arrows already. Not like I need money or items anymore :)

The next level of helaing spell comes in as a level four spell, which you won't start getting until level 7. Clerics aren't just Band-aids, ya know. ;)

With regard to picking things up, on my current run through it's been feast and famine with arrows and bullets. I have 3 archers and 2 slingers (is that a term?) I usually have no shortage of arrows but I just can't stop myself from making room for more. Bullets you don't find anywhere so for those characters I have them use darts and throwing knives to save the bullets for bigger fish.

Also, early in the game (you're probably past that point), even picking up a bastard sword is worth money, so yes, I was on the Faerun recycling task force taking previously owned weapons, swords and for a while helmets (that stopped soon enough)and turning them in for GP's.

What I would ask (sorry for the hijack) is what do you do with all the letters and miscellaneous stuff (like the larry, darryl and darryl autograph). I finally gave up and am storing it in a cupboard in the FAI.

Dump em. I only ever pick up those scrolls when they have the map on it, then it is straight back into the container that they came out of. There are plenty magical items around the place to not have to play scavenger. I stock up on pearls and arrows of biting in the lighthouse area and have bought everything useful that is available before the mines.

I see :) I thought they had some "secret" use ;)

Anyway I just got into Chapter 5 and was wondering when is a good time to explore ToSC content? Most of my guys are lvl 6 except for cleric and mage who are lvl 7.

Darn I'm getting lost in BG :( I entered the city and am overwhelmed with quests, and I've only visited like 3 parts of the city, not even half of it :/

    Any tips?

I'm in the same boat as you. Unfortunately, I don't have time for powersessions (i.e. more than an hour at a time). If your not using a walkthrough, just keep doing the sub-quests that seem right. When you get impatient or think you're ready to move on, continue with the main thread (if you know which one that is).

I remember the first time I played this through I had the same problem. Be prepared to be inefficient your first time through...
