Arch, not eating will kill you, not sporting won't.

A movie quote would fit here: "Kung Fu doesn't stop bullets." (Yes, another of those silly martial arts films, I love 'em.)

[IMG] those buggers are notoriously aggressive no matter what age you are, sprite! no excuse necessary. unless of course you were playing with geese for sport (which was my original intention for this topic) ;)

  7. [IMG] I couldnt begin to count the many times I have flown off a bike into a tree(nothing else, just a tree), then there is the roads, gravel, asphalt, dirt, name it and i have crashed on it. Dont let grass fool you, it hurts when you fly over the handle bars going about 20 mph. Then factor in 'fights' with a friend of mine that boxes, and not a single broken bone, must have the luck of the gods. Also jumped off the back of a truck, not a good idea, considering it was moving along at a good speed. Ive twisted my ankles many times, was droped on my head as a child, used to slide down a flight of stairs on my stomach.

    /me wonders about my health..:help:

[edit] typos really do not like me [/edit]

I went sledding one day. And after frequent trips up and down the hill the plastic front part broke somehow. So then I just rode with the back parrt facing front and with legs tucked in. Woooosh! I saw myself heading toward a small tree. I tried to veer away, but that did'nt work. So I jumped off the sled, unfortunately I was too late and I still went flying into the tree. My leg got hit backside into tree and man did it hurt! My leg was swollen for a month. I should have known, when the sled was going faster and faster with each trip.

DeBhaal Stasion - falling off bikes is very painful indeed, I agree. However, that is one of the reasons we ride - to take the rough with the smooth, getting it wrong once means you try harder next time to get it spot on...

Its the same logic behind eating funny looking plants.

I used to slid down the stairs head first! That was the most fun I ever had. I used to jump across the living room from chair to chair. Well one day a chair went out from under me and my ankle got messed up pretty bad. To this day I cant run very well with out feeling the pain.

[IMG] I have had alot of injuries due to sports here are just some(remember I do play hockey)(I'm a goaly). I've got my neck slashed when the guy was on a brakeaway and I slid right in front of the puck when he was taking a slap shot and his stick cut my neck.
Also, I have took a puck in my knee where I have no pads a few times, in my collar bone, spine, and stomach all of them where I have no pads. On my bike I have had two major slides on the pavement one I hit a basketball size bouncy ball and fliped and landed on my face, and the other I hit a pile of sand and slid right in front of a car he stoped right with his bumper next to my face I had to go get stiches because I slid on my elbow in the fall. Finaly, I just barely escaped possible death I was riding my bike and two of my friends were with me. We were siting at the four way intersection and me and my friends decided to go half way across. Then I started the other half of the way because there was no cars going that I could see. All of a sudden this big dump truck is just about to hit me and barely misses my back tire well I guess my friend was right behind me. The dump truck ended up hiting his front tire and luckily all he got was a few scratches on his elbow.

[IMG] I barehanded a 70 mph pitch to keep a runner from scoring in one of my baseball games.

It fractured about 4 bones in my hand. *ouch*

I couldn't play for about seven weeks after that... But not my beloved possition. (catcher for those still unsure...;))

not to mention all the times runners have *tried* to run me over to get home. (I'm about six foot, 200 lbs., I think that i hurt them more than they hurt me though.)

If you want to talk about real "War Wounds", I was seriously injured while in the US Army. While stationed in Germany, I was crushed by an armored personnel carrier's access ramp. The hoisting cable let go as they unlocked it in preparation of lowering it. I was at the rear of the vehicle attaching the communications wire and was pinned beneath the 2000kg ramp. The injuries I sustained from this accident are as follows: Jaw broken in 5 places, front teeth evulsed (knocked out), 5 ribs broken, cracked sternum, compound fracture of the Thigh bone on my left leg (that's when the bone is sticking out), plus multiple cuts, contusions, and abbrasions. I spent 3 months in the hospital.
