the god knows what buggery feels like? Some nasty theological implications there.

    Anyway on topic:

Once in a fight, didn't have time to take off my glasses. Result: I still have a tiny glass shard imbedded in my eyebrow (I can still feel it). Fortunately, the glass missed my eyes, otherwise this would be a more impressive post.

    Baldak, what kind of APC?

(Just curious, I'm sort of a military freak... ie. own many reference books just for the hell of it.)

Jack, If I remember right, it was an M545 Mobile Command Post. It looked much like a box on tracks, and had a Tent Extender thet attched to the back to form the command post.

I've broken my left leg in 14 times, my right leg 8 times, broken all of my fingers and toes, both sides of my collar bone, my right arm 2 times, hyperextended both knees and elbows, numerous cuts and bruises and currently have a back brace from lifting with my back and not my knees. Remeber I'm only 18, I've been in and out of hospitals for as long as I can remeber and am thinking of getting frequent user points at the local hospital if they'll give them:)

[IMG] You do know, Headbanger, that once you say something like that, you are sure to do something to yourself or get sick.

(once i said that i haven't been sick for 5 years... 2 days later I had a 103 temp. and couldn't talk at all.)

I used to enjoy Climbing and abseiling but had to stop after i lost my footing and after panicing i tried to stop myself by lodging my feet into a crack in the face of the rock (my support stids had somehow given way!) and snapped both my feet almost in half because of the speed i fell, needles to say im now screwed for playing any sport other than darts and pool (if you can call tehm sports)

  14. I forgot about Repeling(sp?), you know, going down a cliff in a swiss seat (/me wonders why they are called swiss seats). I twisted my left ankle, andnear broke my right knee from hitting the ground to hard, and not haveing the harness on correctly. And jake-of-all-trades, its not completely true that if you say that it will happen...Ive been saying I havent been in the hospital for the past several years, and I still havent been.

    "WAR, n.
A by-product of the arts of peace. The most menacing political condition is a period of international amity. The student of history who has not been taught to expect the unexpected may justly boast himself inaccessible to the light. "In time of peace prepare for war" has a deeper meaning than is commonly discerned; it means, not merely that all things earthly have an end -- that change is the one immutable and eternal law -- but that the soil of peace is thickly sown with the seeds of war and singularly suited to their germination and growth. It was when Kubla Khan had decreed his "stately pleasure dome" -- when, that is to say, there were peace and fat feasting in Xanadu -- that he

    'heard from afar
    Ancestral voices prophesying war.'

One of the greatest of poets, Coleridge was one of the wisest of men, and it was not for nothing that he read us this parable. Let us have a little less of "hands across the sea," and a little more of that elemental distrust that is the security of nations. War loves to come like a thief in the night; professions of eternal amity provide the night. "
    -ambrose bierce, The Devil's Dictionary

    Highly recommended reading.

[IMG] Err... Are you sure there's some divine wisdom in that excerpt from Kubla Khan? I'm not denying its poetic value, but Colerdige wrote it after waking up from a bad shot of opium which he used to help him face the hard times... The poem is a mixture of what he read and his own ah, let's say "enhanced" imagination.

    :hippy:
