@ Omni, yeah going mass casters used to be SO much fun. Against humans or Night Elves in the original it was annoying, but if you played it right, you could win easily. Unfortunately however, with the expansion, casters don't mean sh!t now Destroyers are EXTREMELY overpowered IMHO, and make undead one of the most powerful races

 

Starting the last battle to prevent Archimonde's ascent to the World Tree.

Any hints here would be helpful....

 

Expand and capture the other goldmines ASAP. Then just continue rallying your units to the your allies base. Your going to need Bears/Dryads/Talons and even a few hippos. Focus fire on the weaker units is essential, and try to separate their heavy units, as if they're allowed to charge (and they WILL charge) you won't last long (even with your allies' help).

Also don't forget, Starfall/Tranquility whenever possible.

I got it done first time.

Just set up two extra protectors at the human base and held it for 20 of the 45 mins.

Six extra protectors at the Orc base and held it for almost 20 mins too.

He couldn't even break through my outer defense at my elf base with eight protecters at each of the two enterances before the final 5 minutes were over.

I had a line of eight more protectors guarding the circle of power as my last line of defense but never needed them.
Never needed a second gold mine either...


Next time I'll set up 6-8 protectors at the human base early and see if he never can get past the Orc base.


Gotta set up my new PC tommorow and the Frozen Throne expansion will be the first game I play on it along with finishing up ARENA.

 

Nice work! If you REALLY want a challenge, try defending the Human base WITHOUT protectors and then see how long you last

Also, if you finish the final Night Elf level on hard, you'll receive a little surprise at the end of the credits

 

How does "HARD" work?

Better AI?
Or just more bad guys on the map to begin with?

I hate when "hard" cheats by making the other units stronger or cheaper.

 

I don't know about improved AI, although from what I've seen, they just send WAY more units at you.

 

On the really hard difficulties the game cheats.

ie: play a computer on insane, he mines 20g per peon, not 10.

I'm pretty sure it's the same in the single player.

 

On easy they mine 10g, on Medium they mine 15g and on Hard they mine 20g IIRC. The AI also improves significantly with each increase of difficulty. That's multiplayer mind you.

 

No, they mine 10g on medium. AI is just better.

 

I wouldn't know... Medium doesn't provide enough of a challenge

 

Started the Frozen Throne.

"BLINK" is pretty cool!

 

It's a pretty good skill, although the Night Elves DIDN'T need another agility hero, and certainly not another DPS one at that Seriously, shadow strike is great, but fan of knives is just too much.

 

Agreed. They need a strength, not another agi...that makes 3

Mix it up. You need to make sure most of the creeps are slowed AT ALL TIMES. Also, there are many crates around offering some helpful items

 

Got it.

You got to build from the middle out starting at corners that hit them more often the the straight aways as they turn around them.

Now I'm stuck on the one were you clear the gates.

I got about eight level ten red dragons bunched together to clean out at the top of the map.

 

OK I'm on the last Human (Blood Elf) map!

What do I do with "Wirts Other Leg"???

Is that just a joke item from Diablo or what?

Which Hero should have it in their inventory if they show up in a later Campaign?
