    Thanks all for the kind wishes! It went well, not nearly as traumatic as we'd feared. Because we'd been married common-law for years we wanted a more low-key, fun party and to skip the whole white-dress-and-big-cake nightmare. The bride wore blue velvet (and lots of it), the groom wore green velvet (lovely doublet and knee breeches!), and after a brief Anglican ceremony with immediate family only, we had a great dinner for our 75 closest friends, lots of good beer and port, and of course bawdy singing after dinner. Didn't get to the Hedgehog Song (although it was in the songbook, and after a few beers I did some verses solo when people asked me the tune) but everyone seemed to enjoy themselves anyway. I wish you all could have been there!

    We're off Monday morning for two weeks of hiking in the Rocky Mountains, soaking in the Banff hot springs, and a lovely cross-Canada train ride to get home. See you all when we get back!

    And Tal- we're doing as much as we can on the walkthrough today so you'll get another substantial installment before we go. ;)
