A point to note, people.
In Salvatore's Passage to Dawn, a pirate ship was using a 'smokepowder cannon'.

 

Mathetais, yup I am, a dwarven "engineer" (thief specialising in traps and locks, multi-ed with fighter for crossbows (closest I can get tae a gun), helmets and hammers). I've nae truck wi' sorcerous shenanigans and prefer technology every time. It's just *sigh* when ye realise yer livin' in a fantastic world where magic is real it all seems a bit futile. As such I felt compelled to make that bitter post about the dominance of magic. Oh, and Steppenwolf, my priest of Gond is meant to be kinda like your scientist but more in with the period, inventing repeating crossbows and the like.

 

but in passage to dawn it also shows that its not realy effective and that a mage helps then use the cannon

 

you can import a special crossbow, used as a machine gun, wich shoots magic missiles, lightning bolt etc.,
maybe a joke from the programmers?

 

Nobody talks about it
but the anti-paladin should be nice, or something like a death knight or black knight

 

You can download a death knight from this very site, but you need a load of team BG tools to make it work.
