Rags, Rags, Rags!!! When you finally try an MMO it is the free and according to all sources crappy LotR one. You go buy WoW and all three expansions right now and come play with me if you want to experience a proper MMO!

You see the problem in the highlighted areas? Free vs buying a game + three expansion + monthly fee is not really a good point in favour of trying an MMORPG ;)

You get what you pay for and I am pretty sure there are free trials for WoW out to get as well. Blizzard wants people to pay the monthly fee for years so the initial purchase of the game is quite cheap anyway. Kinda like drugdealers giving it out free or cheap for the first few hits then when you are hooked you have to pay.

[IMG] Dealers have a tendency to hook out the good stuff to get people in then put them on the second dust so they have to buy more for the same effect, and that's before spiralling! :D

Playing Perfect World at the moment, another free one with another expansion out next year. Also play Warhammer Online but where I got my account before they introduced the free up to level 10 thing I can't revert to playing for free :(

Finished Batman: Arkham Asylum a while ago, excellent game. Hopefully the sequel will be as good. But unfortunately this was a Games for Windows - LIVE game (I thought it was only Games for Windows), which means that you need a LIVE account and have to be online to play it, or you cannot save the game.

I am currently playing Mafia 2, which also got on my nerves with the DRM, as it uses Steamworks, somehow that escaped my attention too before buying it. I already hate Steam a lot, it does not even work properly... this will certainly be the first and last game I play which uses Steam. Other than that it is a decent game.

Drakensang 2. Great game. Good old fashioned single player rpg. I recomend it warmly.

There is no Drakensang 2. There is Drakensang: The River of Time, which is a prequel to Drakensang. That's what you mean?

My flatmate has bought himself a PS3 so I'm watching him die miserably on level 2 of Call of Duty. It's most amusing. "You do see the machine gun in the tower, don't you?" Turns out he didn't .

Update: He spent the last five minutes trying to figure out why he couldn't get the game to load. Then he remembered there was no disk in the machine...

Update 2: He's ventured into the world of online deathmatches :tobattle:. He thought the action replay of his death was him still playing and kicking ass .

Update 3: He's delighted with himself for not coming last in his first deathmatch. This was spoiled slightly when I pointed out the two people below him had both zero kills and zero deaths and so may not have actually been in the game.

The other night I played Kinect Adventures with my dad. Sending the photos was absolutely funny. Seeing as we are both out of shape and seeing up jump, run, etc... is quite entertaining even in a still shot.

Last night was Mass Effect and tonight it will also be Mass Effect.

Started playing my second playthrough of DA:O today then knocked the x-box and scratched the disc to pieces :( Swore enough to make a sailor blush.

Going to platinum Bioshock 2 before I start any new games. Probably going to go with Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood first, then Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit. Then Vanquish. Although I need to platinum Dead Space before the second one comes out in February! So much videogaming!

How does one 'platinum' a game? And why is it so desirable to do this before the onset of a sequel?

Pffft. I have an Ancient pc that helps me stay away from new games (like dragons, this ability grows more powerful with age). :) From what I hear, I'm not missing much.

Been playing Wesnoth again the last few weeks and of course some of the IE titles for signature reasons. Some pretty creative (and more RPGish) campaigns were added since the last time I tried it.

Playing the L.U.R.K. mod for Stalker. It's really one of the best mods I've played so far; everything has been overhauled: textures, shaders, quests, A.I., monsters, gameplay and the weapons. Oh yes, they've actually included one of my favorites: the Mosin-Nagant :)

[IMG] There's always an ache when you finish a game you've put a lot of time into, after the "HELL YEAH! achievment passes but before you start looking at other things to do.
