I've been playing Lord of the Rings: Battle for Middle Earth 2 for a couple of days. Otherwise I play Starcraft 2 online sometimes but haven't had much time for it lately. I'm thinking about finally finishing Fallout 3 (started playing in 2008, I believe) and maybe, just maybe buying Vegas. The funny thing is that nowadays I can use my job as an excuse for playing games, at least certain kinds. In fact, my job would suffer if I were to stop playing games totally.

I was having a blast with ToEE with the latest Co8 NC update. I was near the end game, but became increasingly unhappy with some of my build decisions/mistakes (e.g. I planned on having my paladin use bastard sword, so he could wield Scather, forgetting that Scather was a chaotic good aligned weapon). I started a new party but sort of lost my oomph. I may come back to it soon though.

I'm currently doing an IWD2 runthrough using the Tactics mod (inspired by Beren's recent guide). I'm currently in the ice temple and having a lot of fun!

I take it that you weren't building your spellcasters to create weapons instead of relying on finding them in game?

Actually my cleric, druid and wizard all had item creation feats. I crafted a great number of items for my party... but Scather is... special. That's a weapon that defines a party, and to have built up my party so that only my lawful good paladin had the capability to wield this amazing chaotic good weapon was just eating at me.

It wasn't the only mistake that I made. I made a few dumb feat choices as well, and started imagining "how I would do it all better during the next runthrough." Well, once I got that in my head, I was like how can I continue with this "flawed" party when I could start over with a greatly perfected party.

And it's not like I was struggling with the flawed party. I beat what I'm told is the hardest encounter in the game (the Slave Traders) with a party that according to Gaear was really too low for the encounter. I just couldn't bear not to use Scather, nor could I bear to have my Paladin wield it due to the alignment issue (I didn't mind negative level so much as the roleplaying quandary). Ah well.

I think we need a separate M2:TW thread...

Anyway, I finally finished F.E.A.R. Next I'll get back to Oblivion, but that might not be for a week or so.

Wizardry 8. A nice, refreshing game with a unique engine and NPCs as well. Going spellcasting heavy this time, which can be challenging. Already visited Arnika, on the path to Trynton now.

Fallout 3: New Las Vegas. Works like a charm after its patched. Haven`t encountered any bugs so far.

L.A. Noire: Ok game, but way too easy. Dumbed down alot.

Just started the new Deus Ex game as well. I never played the older ones, so I am still trying to figure out what is going on in the game so far. Looks like it has a very very cool setting though.

Yu-gi-oh. The game has flourished since I last played it, which was about 8 years ago. Playing it offline is harder than ever though, which is why I only play online/ad hoc. Not to mention the virtual game has all kinds of animations and other neat stuff, impressive for a card game that has close to 4500 unique cards. Great game for keeping yourself preoccupied until some other title shows.

[IMG] I've made a new Total War forum so please move all TW discussion to that one. Just start a new thread there for any of the games in question.

We'll move the TW posts from this thread into a new thread in the new forum but it's going to take a while as there are a lot of posts to go through.

Finally back to playing Oblivion (first run-through), now I've got the mods properly installed. I've already screwed up (didn't wait long enough for guards to clear the area before breaking into a house I needed to get into during a quest), and I don't have an old enough save game, so it looks like I'll have to pay a fine. Hopefully there are no long-term consequences.

As I recall there are no long term consequences, you just pay the fine and you'll be scot-free. They will confiscate any pilfered items on your person, though, but I think it should be ok if you just drop them on the ground somewhere before talking to them.

Alpha Protocol. Somewhat flawed, but quite fun in its way. Just finished it after some 2-3 days of playing.
