What is the best build for a melee character

    I'm sorry Ms. Grey.
    My point is that there is no best build for a melee character. This a team game. The best strategy to this game is never to get to melee at all. Good arrowers or bolters and buffs help a lot and augment your magicers.
    Example: Ice palace level 2, I completed 95% of this level with my rogue -- the rest of my party hidden in a room. From my perspective, the only time that you really need a true-only melee type character is for the 8-chamber test and the battle squares; however, in battle squares (not HoF) a good arrower will get you through level 10 for almost every type of enemy (barely within the 60 seconds) with a +2 arrow.

    EDIT:
    I forgot. The battle as you enter the top level of the Goblin Fortress (run by a bugbear, maybe bugbear fortress would be better) is straight melee. Watch out if you have to fight those 100+ damaging halfgoblins in melee.
