w.d., they are dependant on level. I gave the lowest level stats instead of making a three page post with every possible contingency. You can find all the stats in SP (you just need to look in the right place). :)

Sword and shield is even more useless for a druid....

Actually, it is possible to pick up Mazzy when she is still level 8. At that point she still has 5*s in short bows, but only 1* in short swords.

Sword and Shield Style is a redundant skill for any character class regardless, if people are that eager for better ac against missiles just wear Shield of Reflection.

Sword and Shield complements characters who will always be using shields. If I feel like making Mazzy a shielder, for example, so she can tank things better (depending on what strategy I'm cooking up) or so that she'll remain solidly nigh-immune to enchantments (with the shield of harmony - that mazzy can cast haste haste, lay on hands and remove fear makes her very useful in several situations) then I'll just take Sword and Shield for that extra vsMissile AC bonus since it will be useful at some point or another anyway.
I wouldn't waste her profs in another weapon since there are good enough Short Swords out there, and if I wanted her to become a bowyer or a dual-wielder then she wouldn't be using a shield in the first place anyway. And if I wanted her to use long swords or any other weapon I'd get her at LvL 8, as Aldeth pointed out, and progress from there.

BTW, the shield of reflection will save your from missiles, but it won't do much against those warriors and spellcasters making a dive for your character. So unless you like to micromanage switching shields then yes, it becomes a worthless skill.
