    In ancient Hibernia, rabbits are a symbol of fertility and I am sure you can guess why.

    And rabbits do not lay eggs!

    Well Easter is a Anglo-Saxon word and the local pagans used rabbits in artwork etc to symbolise fertility. Its a shame those 'holier-than-thou' Christians are ignorant of these things and that their Christmas carols are pagan songs with different lyrics.

    I've always been taught that the Easter bunny is there because Easter is primarily a spring fertility festival and a rabbit is a symbol of fertility (so is an egg).
