Starting: Elminster: The Making of a Mage by Ed Greenwood, loving it so far.

 

still on night watch, should finish by tonight.

making of a mage is by far the best book in that series.

 

I finished Shaman's Crossing today. Most of the book was very heavy handed in its ethical/political stances - but then the ending pretty much did a complete 180 on most of them. It was quite bizarre and not in an entertaining way. It is definitely a big step below the quality of Hobb's other books.

 

I thought as much of Shaman's crossing as well. There definitely seems to be something missing in quality comparing to her previous books, especially comparing to Liveship Traders. But as I like her writing very much, I thoroughly enjoyed it nonetheless. And the sequel as well.

I love Hobb's writing for IMO she plays with the readers feelings and misconceptions very well.

As I'm about to launch my biology studies very soon, I enjoyed Shaman's Crossings and Forest Mages ethical contents. I guess it helps to enjoy Soldier Son trilogy if you're a little nature loving freak and excited about ecology.

 

still on ender's game by orson scott card. i think it made it's way onto my "favorite books" list. awesome stuff, and i don't really like sci-fi.

 

I started reading "The Angel of Revolution" by George Griffith a rather unusual Victorian Science-Fantasy where the heroes are a bunch of revolutionary terrorists who fly around in an air-ship.

 

Ender's Game was brilliant.

Now reading Enchantment, still by Orson Scott Card. Still somewhat at the beginning but it looks promising.

 

Enchantment is a great read. Yanks your romantic strain.

 

"Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince" by J. K. Rowling. Makes a nice change from Erikson, although I have "Memories of Ice" on reserve at the library so I can re-read that next.

Yeah, I found that out last night when I couldn't put it down and kept reading til around 4am when I had to wake up at 6am

Just finished Enchantment, not sure what I'm going to start on now though..

I started this morning on 1634: The Galileo Affair by Eric Flint and Andrew Dennis. So far it has been really quite dull. Hopefully it will improve once the story starts moving forward.

 

I liked that book, JSBB - I found a certain Sapniard to be incredibly entertaining

I pickjed up a book called "the revenge of the ninja" at the flea market today. I canöt wait to get my 50 cents' worthh of entertainment

 

I like the Harry Potter books, HB . Just great escapism, nothing more, nothing less.

A book on the Spanish Civil War - it's kinda research for an assignment, but mostly I'm just interested in the subject matter.

 

Black Wind by Clive Cussler. Only one more book in the Dirk Pitt series to read after this one and it happens to be one of the first books he wrote.

 

I finished 1634: The Galileo Affair during my lunch break today - it was decent but not great.

I was planning on starting Legends II next (it is a collection of short stories by a number of the more popular fantasy authors) but I bought six books this morning and I may pick one of them instead.

 

just finished Avenger. Not as good as his older stuff :/ Also read Sein Language by Seinfeld. Not as funny as I thought it would be, but there were one or two parts. Now about to start Don't Stand too close to a naked man by Tim Allen

 

Just started reading Lamb : The Gospel according to Biff Christ's childhood pal by Christopher Moore...very funny and interesting book...
