Nope; picked up Singularity Sky on a whim when I saw it in hardback for $4, and that was the first Stross book I read.

Having finished Lion of Senet--and not having my opinion of it changed by the second half of the book--I am now reading Sebastian by Anne Bishop.

    Pretty fun.

It's not really hard to finish a book in 2 days :/ I finished Thud! in 2 days. Thud! was awesome, I love the Sam Vimes mystery type stories. Am now reading an FR novel, Whisper of Waves by Philip Athans. Pretty good so far.

I finished Golden Fool today (it was pretty good) and started on Fool's Fate. This series really feels more like one novel arbitrarily split in three instead of being a trilogy of three related novels.

ah i see :p still, Annihilation wasn't bad :p and all game novelizations suck ass anyway, with the exception of "The Dig" by Alan Dean Foster.

In Evil Hour by Gabriel Garcia Marquez. Not bad - no where near as good as One Hundred Years of Solitude...

Having almost finished Deadhouse Gates, I've ordered Gardens of the Moon, Memories of Ice and House of Chains. Until they arrive I will be reading Inside Out - A Personal History of Pink Floyd by Nick Mason, as one of the actual members of the band I figure he may actually know something about them :p

Reading A Cruel Wind by Glen Cook

Actually an omnibus hardcover collecting the first three "dread empire" books. I'm not sure how they're chronicles of the dread empire, since at the point I am in the first novel, the empire's been dust for hundreds of years.

Ah well, I expect all shall be revealed.

You must have liked it then, DS.

Flight of the Nighthawks? Let us know if it is any good. I've been putting off getting it.

Yes, especially if you actually buying them. I love those books, but I still get them from the library.

Still reading Memories of Ice. What a great book. Quick Ben rules.

I just finished reading Fool's Fate. It was excellent. It more than made up for the slow start in the first book. I sat down after dinner and read for an extra five hours above what I would normally read - which I have not been inspired to do in quite some time.

I will be working from home tomorrow so I will probably not start anything else until Monday.

'Across the face of the world', by Russell Kirkpatrick. A proper Tolkenian style fantasy epic. And the first of an incredible trilogy.

Thing is, these books are by a New Zealand author and are, at present, only available in NZ, Australia and the UK. But whenever they come out anywhere else i would highly recommend them.

Sorry? You read a book for FIVE hours AFTER dinner? No wonder you can finish books in a couple of days!

    Any relation of Ian?
