"His Dark Materials" trilogy finished, though I was a tad depressed with the ending.

Now reading "Dream Park" (Niven & Barnes). Should be an enjoyable re-read, it's been about ten years since I last read it.

Taking a break from Jorge Luis Borge's complete works by starting The Colour of Magic, with the intention to eventually go through all of the Discworld novels.

Mm. Dated but good, a nice scare... preferably to be read in one sitting.

But then again, I'm a rabid fan of Mr. Leiber, so I would say that.

Reading "Land of Laughs" by Jonathan Carroll. Seems to be a dud buy, not enjoying it much halfway through.

Wow, it has been a while since I posted here - working from home since Christmas really killed my reading time but I finished The Honor of the Queen a while back and read The Short Victorious War on the flight over to London. I probably won't ready much until the flight home which is on the 29th so I am in a real lull bookwise.

    The New Empire, Walter LaFeber

I think Chandos would like this--the author has a great deal of respect for the policymakers he discusses (1860-1898ish). OTOH, the basic point is that America did not 'stumble into' the empire it acquired in the Spanish-American war, which might not appeal so much. It's quite good, however; Lafeber's a damn fine historian.

I'm on a WWII kick. I'm re-reading "To Hell and Back," by Audie Murphy. It's very good.

Finshed The Dragon Waiting. Good stuff but the ending wasn't that great imo. Probably going to read Feist's Magician: Apprentice next. Don't have Master though :(

Finished "The Colour of Magic" and now starting "The Light Fantastic". I'm not sure I'll be able to put up with all the Discworld books, but the series certainly looks promising.

Lucifer's Hammer, by Niven and Pournelle.

I dunno, the beginning hasn't grabbed me, but I'm only 40 pages in. Maybe I'll change my mind.

    Don Quixote by Cervantes

It's an interesting book for anybody interested in 14th century writing.

That reminds me, if anybody is into humorous fantasy I'd recommend Night Watch by Terry Pratchett.
