Michael Crichton - Rising Sun. Not too bad so far, only minor change was made to the movie that I've found so far - something as piddly as changing Wesley's character from Peter in the book to Web in the film. Strnage that not much yet has been butchered for the film.

[IMG] House of Chains by Steven Erikson. One of the best books I've ever read.

I am reading Paulo Coelho's "The Pilgrimage" at the moment. Excellent book. If I find the time I will wander to Santiago de Compostela this year as well.

I'm reading Warlock - To the Magic Born by Christopher Stasheff. Quite amusing, though I found the best written part being the SF part rather than the fantasy that followed.

About to start: The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-time ~ Mark Haddon. Should be interesting.

Le Petit Prince. C'est bizarre. Peut-etre parce que j'ai vieilli.

(The Little Prince. It's weird. Maybe because I've gotten older.)

Can anyone tell me whether Good Omens is worth the money it would take to purchase it? I'm thinking about lumping it in with my 'finish all Pratchett novels before reading anything else.'

With that in mind, I'm just about to start Thief of Time and I just finished Carpe Jugulum.

Good Omens isn't as good as Pratchett's Discworld novels but it's worth reading if you've read all the Discworld ones and are killing time till he gets round to writing another one.

Just started Clash of Kings by Martin. A Game of Thrones was quite remarkable....lots of names and families in the beginning, but once you figure out who's who, the story gets quite intriguing. I expect Clash of Kings will be just as good!

Morgoth and I are also reading 'A Clash of Kings'. Must be the most popular book in SP right now.

I'm currently re-reading the Hitchhiker's series, I'm towards the beginning of Mostly Harmless for the moment. Also I plan on digging out my copy of Jurassic Park, for lack of any new fantasy/sci-fi material around the house.

Side note, somewhat off-topic: Anyone ever read The Long Dark Tea-Time of the Soul, by Douglas Adams? Pretty amusing, IMO, and written in Adams' traditional style.

Really?! Must be someone else then.

Ah, back on topic, I am STILL reading 'A Clash of Kings'. Right now. At this very moment.

I finished this book a few weeks ago, but I'd like to read it more times in the future. This book is Stephen Hawking: The Brief History of Time (was bestseller). I can recommend it to anyone who likes science even a bit. It's excellent, very interesting , and understandable even by amateurs. No formulas in it for example,
    except E=m*c^2 :D
Anyway, its content is a bit expired (it's from 1990s), there are books currently which contain newer information, but this is important only for professionals: the most of the content of The brief history of Time is still proper, and still isn't taught in highschools (there, they teach even older theories).
