    Just dropped reading Crossfire from Black Library. The first of their books i had to quit. So right now I've started on Tangled Webs by Elaine Cunningham. Of my recent exploits I can mention the Gaunts Ghost novels by Dan Abnett, and while I'm at it, I just might recommend his Inquisitor trilogy. Beside that, Beasts in Velvet from BL is also good reading.

    Just finished LA Confidential and I couldn't believe how much they'd butchered it for the film!! Almost couldn't get into it as I loved the movie and know it so well.

    Anyway, now onto Elmore Leonard's Rum Punch.

    "All the pretty horses" by Cormac McCarty. Without a question the worst book I have ever started. It is bound to improve. It completely lacks structure or plot or characterization, heck, it lacks just about everything that makes up a book. It seems to me to be a loose collection of stray sentences. Has anyone read this book and hopefully be able to tell me that it will get better?

    Well, just finished the Cormyr Saga about an hour ago. I will have to say, to date, it's the best set of books I've ever read. Book 1: Cormyr, was good, my least favorite of the 3, but nevertheless a great read if you like history, politics and intrique. The 2nd book: Beyond the High Road and the 3rd: Death of the Dragon were simply spectacular--a clear, solid plot, but with subtle twists and turns that kept you guessing with every turn of the page. The books definitely have something for everyone -- adventure, battles, demons, mages, dragons, love, intrique and most of all, an unexpected ending that rocked me right in my shoes. All hail Troy Denning! Total thumbs up! :thumb:

    Cormyr books are amazing. I loved them all.

    But even better is Song of Ice&Fire. Even bigger and more complex story. :grin:

    Currently though, i'm reading the third Discworld novel - Equal Rites.
    And i must say it is in my opinion the best of the first three. :cool:

    I've started reading Salvatore - Drizzt saga again (second time i'm reading 'em =), currently on Sea of Swords.
    After it gonna go for The Demon Aphostole (or whatever it was in english, since i'm reading in finnish :D )

    Past read: Thousand orcs, Spine of the world ans so on :D Salvatore mostly, plus Jean Rabe: that book about Dhamon as a Rogue, can't remember the title, something about waterfall etc. :)
    Those are the books read in the last month/couple of months.

    Oooh, thanks Apeman and Gothmog! A Song of Fire & Ice will be next on my buy list! If it's anything remotely like The Cormyr Saga, I can't wait! :D

    Oh... and I started The Threat From The Sea by Mel Odom. I've just begun the first book, Rising Tide, and it seems fantastic. Great description, lots of history, and sea battles against those beasty sahuagin! Arrr! :shake:

    That one is amazing DMC. I read it a couple of months ago. The funny thing with that book is that it gets better after you read it, while I read I thought it was a nice interesting little book. After I had finished it and had some distance and had been able to think a little bit it grew into a very good book for me.
