Besides, otherwise it wouldn't be nearly as fun. Even better - now we can always blame / extol the other sex when we feel like it ;) .

Aww, Blackthorne, dont speak such vile words unto us. :D Simply celebrating our abject dependency on the women, that's all. :D

Certain sexes are superior, on average, in different fields. In the end it all balances out. Certainly, there don't need to be as many men as there are since it only requires one man to impregnate many women.

Oh no, because women are known for their level-headedness, in fact they exhibit a 'period' of intense level-headedness once every month.

And women never disrespect their bodies by getting expensive beauty surgery or spend heaps of money on superficial, random trash such as shoes, bags, jewelery, clothes and basically form over function stuff.

'Every' man? Sweeping statement that. I find men tend to be more constrained and less sure of themselves around women and this can often be considered a negative thing.

There's nothing wrong with a little humorous debate now and then. As long as people don' take things personally and start trying to flame each other this can remain fun. I'm all for debate. And just for the sake of having a little fun and throwing a cog in the system Hermaphrodites are superior. They get the best of both worlds and can blend in with either gender.

Well, I have been single for about a year and a half now, and in all honesty, it has been the best period of my life.

Those men that need women probably interact with them in a manner that is not as rewarding as could be possible. Is being mutually dependent upon one another a good thing? To my way of thinking, a completely unnecessary friendship is the most joyful---by necessity. Why else would the two people spend so much time together?

Hopefully one day I'll meet a sexy lady and we'll be best friends, you know, because it will be so much fun to do so.

But regardless, I'm a fan of women.

Exactly. I know just as many hopeless women as I do hopeless men. Women who are helpless at the sight of a spider. Women who ignore strange noises from their car engine. Women who get stupidly drunk and flirt with loser men. Women who have huge credit card debts.

To say that men are more useless than women is just silly.

While it is true that some females become especially moody, I know no-one like that. And I came from an all-girls school so I'm speaking from lots of experience. :p

That used to be me haha. Until my brother forced me to catch a huntsman in the laundry when I was 12. It was horrible at the time.. >_< Although I always have to catch them now because my brother's too lazy. -_- As long as the spider doesn't move that much and it isn't that close to me when I spot it, I'll be fine. Pass an empty container or the vacuum cleaner please. :p

In my opinion I don't think there is a 'superior' gender. Everyone is better than someone else at something.

interesting this, that people say here that women keep level headed better then men, when it is well documented that women suffer more from disorders such as mood swings, OCD, depression, low self esteem, narcism and paranoia

No. It works. Any development poject that takes only men into account does not work nearly as well as those that emphasize taking mainly women into account. 97% of Grameen Bank borrowers are women. How's that for a load of generalized nonsense if it really works and if Grameen Bank is indeed profitable? Then there's this: Grameen Bank and Their (Nobel-winning) Approach to Microfinance & Women

Educating girls in third world countries works better to lift families out of poverty than educating men. Why? Partially because women bear the brunt of poverty and helping them to get better will eliminate the worse effects of poverty, but also because of women's role as keepers of the house, hygiene, child care and family economics, the families and the people suffering extreme poverty will benefit more from women's education.

Usefulness is ultimately measured by survival. 'Nuff said.

I still need to see a proof of Barmy Army meaning this seriously.

I believe his humour is somewhat sophisticated, so it could be he is yanking our chain. :D

I'm a mans man type of guy, and enormously sexist, so it's probably better if I say no more ;) Good topic anyway.

I've got to agree with Carcaroth on that one. That doesn't make them "better" though... Only better company. ;)

How is that a load of generalized nonsense? That is the very definition of generalized nonsense! You take one example that shows a good outcome for women and in a very specific circumstance, and then generalize it to everyone everywhere in all circumstances.

    Well no surprise there.

Haven't humankind not generalized about everything in politics, religion, gender, race, or skin colors name through history?

Just shows we are not changing at all. Which for me is the amusing part about humans. Then again I have always appreciated irony.

Yes, I can see how a system that works in 43 countries already is a very specific circumstance

And I'd gather that 50 million people could be considered as a very good representative sample...

But I guess it's true what's said about statistics, and the differences between genders of course have nothing to do with statistics in any case, right? :p

The specific circumstance is impoverished, needing microcredit. Yeah, that's real representative of women and men everywhere.

So, even if you accept that such a narrow circumstance as more women being mircocredit borrowers somehow makes them "better", it is not anywhere near definitive in the broader arena.

Half of the world lives on less than 2$ per day. That's three billion people whos lives a microcredit would help substantially.

So yeah, narrow circumstances...can't argue with that
