But I thought you hated Raw... apart from Jericho, that is :D

Blah is still a bunch of stinking manure, yes, but the leaderless episodes were utter chaos, and that's what made it great.

Jericho... with his heel turn officially complete, the Highlight Reel segments a thing of the past and the clown Jericho officially dead, maybe they can focus on WRESTLING. Jericho made a good point in the final highlight reel - he could have gone for another World Title reign instead of being a puppet entertaining the masses.

So far, I've been surprised with how the creative morons have dealt with the heel turns. It's mildly amusing that Kane gets cheered, even though he's booked as a heel. I never dreamed I'd see Jericho focusing on whipping asses and not amusing the masses.

Mike Adamle as a GM? That ranks just below Harpo Marx doing colour commentary on the scale of things that will work well. Still, He can't be much worse than Vicky Guerrero during the Edge storyline...

Kane may have delivered the brutality so long that the fans that want that (and can't get CZW) will cheer for the closest that WWE has to offer in that regard.

Jericho's heel turn is a natural evolution of the character. He has been the clown and making the people laugh, but HBK gets the respect and adulation that he wants. HBK hasn't really changed from the cocky little SoB that rammed his partner's head through the plate glass window in the early 1990's. Sure he's had some legendary matches and been a decorated champ, but he's still that same annoying twirp--just he annoys a different set of opponents now. Jericho feels that he should have that same opportunity, but has been cheated for whatever reason. He's turning on HBK out of jealousy. It flows so naturally. I don't know who the new writers are for Vince, but I like what they're doing...

AS for ECW, I don't see anyone that can challenge Mark Henry for the ECW belt...

CZW... sweet, sweet, sweet Ultraviolence. I can't wait to see Brain Damage KILL DJ Hyde and that other guy in the triple threat for the CZW Ironman Championship.

I'm also curious to see whenever the new CZW World Champion Drake Younger will defend the belt. It's not going to be a rematch against Gage, because Gage will be busy KILLING Devon Moore... but there's definitively a Younger/Gage rematch in the long run.

But back to Wish We Were Entertaining. We all know Assamle is horrible. Well, the GM job can be completly scripted, so it's definitively possible they will script his every line and decision, because, after all, he's proven he knows squat about the buisness.

Tomko is officially done with Total Nonstop A-holery, he will be wrestling full time in Japan. TNA's loss is NJPW's gain.

Heck, I'm still wondering why so many people cheer Michaels - or Triple H, for that matter - as faces, and I've watched some of their better matches. Oh well.

Anyway, I like Jericho so I hope he gets a good push. He and Punk should be able to put on a good match.

Shaman, it is because they are so "over" with the fans. like stone cold, undertaker, flair 7 a few others. The fans will cheer them whether they are in face or heel mode.

Here's a thought: WWE has too many titles.

If they merged the brands, had ONE heavyweight champ, One Intercontinental champ, One dset of Tag Team Champs, One women's champ, and one Hardcore champ, then spread the action across three weekly shows, they would see increased competition for the titles, and the ones that didn't belong there (seen-it) would fall off...

What I meant is why Michaels is cheered, or "over". I don't really care that much about him - he's good, I admit, just not that incredibly awesome imo.

HBK stands for Has Been Kid. Over the hill, too. If only Jericho could put him out of his misery for good.

He must be a bigger zombie than the Taker - he's been "put down" at least what, 3 times? He was out in the late 1990's after iirc a match with Undertaker, then was taken out by Orton, and I think Triple H... am I missing someone?

Yes, Sycho Sid. Michaels hired him as bodyguard and Sid turned on him and injured his back, IIRC.

I watched the last Smackdown, and while most of the matches were okay-ish, I must say the finishing promo was very good. Both guys showed that they are great on the mic, and the emotional outcome was great. The only thing missing was if Edge ended the segment with a simple "Thank you" that would really drive the point across.

Still, even as it is, it was great for showcasing both men, and it was great as a step in the larger Edge-Undertaker feud arc. Jericho did a great job in Monday's Reel, but I think Edge one-upped him that Friday, and is still the #1 heel in WWE.

Yeah, but with the death of the Highlight Reel, Jericho can now focus on whipping asses and making people tap out like little girls to the Walls of Jericho instead of running his mouth like Edge does.

Who's the best heel between Edge & Jericho? If Jericho keeps going in the direction he is going, Edge will look like a loudmouth elementary school bully. Besides, Edge is going to get absolutely annihlated in Hell in a Cell, while Jericho is supposed to put the Has Been Kid out of his misery at either Unforgiven or No Mercy.

Edge has lost some of the respect that made him a great heel. Sure he gets the most heat of anyone because of his mouth and the Vicky angle, but he hasn't been delivering the goods. Flair is a legend because when the time came he delivered the goods. I think that Foley's part in the finale of Crapfest was trying to bring that out of him.

I couldn't help but chuckle at Foley's speech - the white tuxedo Edge, the loofah sponge bathing Edge... classic. :shake:

    Well, you know... Foley :)

He doesn't seem to channel it that well as an announcer, but he's still 7 kinds of awesome when it comes to making a promo.

@Gnarf: indeed, Edge should have a good win or two to back up his talk, but it might be quite hard to do that in that feud. Still, the wedding/La Familia angle has not been going that long, and at least his losses have been to stars like the Undertaker and Triple H - with some outside interference in the latter one - so it's not like he's been jobbing to some amateurs. I personally consider his WM and Backlash matches some of the best I've seen this year, though, so if he manages to put on a good performance - and maybe eke out a win just like he did in the Batista feud - he would be perfectly ok by me.

Undertaker, losing in Hell in a Cell, in a return match? That's just not gonna happen. The people will order the PPV with the hopes of Undertaker utterly annihlating Edge, and I think he will deliver, big time.

Well, the Undertaker is the favourite, sure. Yet however it ends, this has all the signs of being match of the year... if not more. The ultimate dominator meets the ultimate survivor, in a match where the prize of winning is walking out.

Damn, I need to eat a lemon or I'll be grinning like that for days!

Saw a new Wrestling promotion on MTV2 tonight. Wrestling Society X. They use tables, ladders, thumbtacks, electricity, explosives and other good stuff. It was great.

With New Jack running around there should be some good stuff...

New? WSX has been dead for quite some time, Gnarff, you've been seeing replays.

Judas Mesias was the second -- and last -- champ in their short history.

BTW, Gnarff, check out my oddities album - you'll see a good shot of Ian Rotten bleeding and squealing like a pig.
