You can find Rumbald at #11 in the Dyrford Village. Aggressive, Clever and Diplomatic responses are available when you first speak to him. When it comes time to ascertain more clearly what's bothering, Aggressive, Passionate and Rational responses become available.
An Ogre is apparently responsible for the decimation of his pig herd, and he would like you to exact vengeance on the Ogre. Benevolent, Rational and Stoic replies become available in response to his plea for help.
The Ogre named Korgrak can be found at #8 on the Grisly Cave map. It is definitely easier to goad him into a fight than not. Aggressive and Passionate replies at the outset will accomplish that, as will making a Perception check of 16, a Survival check of 9, or an Intellect check of 18. He will also be helped out by a pair of Elder Bairs. This can be a tough fight, because all three can hit very hard. Use any spells that buff up your defenses, apply debuffs to them, or immobilize them (e.g. Stun, Prone, Paralyze).
Rumbald will want the Head as proof of the deed. He's willing to reward the party with 600cp, the Piglet as a pet item, and a Blunderbuss named Lead Spitter. It also results in a minor positive reputation increase with Dyrford Village. However, you can also choose to forgo the 600cp in order to earn Benevolent disposition and a major positive increase in reputation with Dyrford Village.
You can, however, branch the conversation into asking him why he doesn't leave the cave, and that opens up alternative ways to resolve the quest. Be advised that choosing Aggressive, Deceptive, Diplomatic or Passionate responses thereafter will provoke him into attacking you, and the resolution of the quest will be the same as if you killed him. It is the Rational response that opens up three different possibilities:
You can convince him to flee the cave for greener pastures so to speak. He won't be seen in the game thereafter.
You can convince him to kill Rumbald. This earns Cruel disposition.
Rumbald won't be happy if you went with the first two of these possibilities. You can threaten him to earn a small hit of negative reputation with Dyrford Village. You can earn Lead Spitter as a reward, the Piglet, and a moderate increase in positive reputation with Dyrford Village if you spend 400cp to recompense Rumbald for his pigs. If you neither threatened him or compensated him, then you're limited to a minor increase in positive reputation with Dyrford village.
If you convince Krograk to kill Rumbald, the only reward you get is the Piglet pet item from Rumbald's corpse.
