The quest takes place in the Temple of Eothas, the entrance to which is at #7 on the Gilded Vale map.
The quest is given by Wirtan, who is at #2 on the map of the upper level of the Temple of Eothas. He wants you to recover the remains of the Priests of Eothas who died within the temple, so that he can lay them to rest.
You will need to open the door at #18, which opens the way to the lower level of the Temple of Eothas. There are three ways to open the door:
A character with a rank of at least 10 in Mechanics can open the door.
It can be opened by ringing the bells at #17 on the upper level in a sequence of right, middle, left and then right.
You will need to open the door at #12 on the lower level of the Temple of Eothas. There are two ways to do that. One is to use the mechanical wheel at #4, which drains the pool. Draining the pool allows you to take the Gleaming Silver Key, which can open the door. The other way is to discover the lever at #11 while in scouting mode, and then switch it to open the door.
On the other side of the door will be the spirit of a Priest of Eothas. You can use your Watcher abilities to learn what really happened, and Wirtan's role in it. Now you can take the Dead Priest's Bones.
You can then bring the Dead Priest's Bones back to Wirtan. Honest, Cruel, Stoic, Benevolent and Passionate responses are available throughout the conversation, and there's more than one way to resolve things:
One way is to simply take your 200cp without pressing the issue of Wirtan's role in the Priests dying. There's no consequence beyond the collection of your reward.
Another way is to kill him for his role in past events, take your 200gp and whatever minor loot he leaves behind. This earns +1 towards Aggressive disposition, and minor negative reputation in Gilded Vale.
Another way is to encourage him to make amends by burying the remains of the dead priests, and living a better life afterwards. This won't earn the 200cp, but it will earn +1 towards Benevolent disposition and a moderate gain towards positive reputation in Gilded Vale.
