If you speak to her about needing help, she'll want you to rescue her Dwarven cook, Tenfrith, from bandits at #7 in the Valewood. You'll get a moderate reputation gain with Gilded Vale if you speak to her, rescue Tenfrith, and then speak to her again. You'll gain a major reputation gain with Gilded Vale if you rescued Tenfrith without ever having previously spoken to her, and then speaking to her afterwards. A significant xp reward is provided in either instance.
You can afterwards find Tenfrith at #4 on the first floor of the Black Hound Inn. He will be grateful for his rescue, and reward the party with the recipe for Savory Pie.
