A Dwarven woman named Ista is at #13 on the Stalwart Village. She wants to test an ore-detecting device that she constructed, and the conversation will turn to you performing the test on her behalf. The party will get the Ore-Detecting Device in their inventory.
The entrances to the Ice Cave are at points labeled #25 on the Durgan's Battery map. Several Lagufaeth will attack.
There will also be three niches in the Cave. One holds a random scroll. Another holds a random armor or weapon, usually of Exceptional quality. The third, in the northwest corner, holds the White Adra Gems. It won't be the metal ore that Ista was hoping for, but they will still be of use for purposes of completing the task.
Now return to Ista. You have three choices:
You can use a Deceptive dialogue option to lie to her and say you didn't find anything. She'll give you 300cp. You can also sell the gems for 1,500cp. This is the best option if maximum profit is what you're after.
You can indicate that you found gems instead of ore. You can them give them to her, with or without a Benevolent dialogue option. You won't be able to sell the gems after giving them to her, but she'll give you an 800cp reward. You'll also get a moderate gain of positive reputation with Stalwart Village.
You can indicate that you found the gems but are now keeping them yourself, with or without a Cruel dialogue option. You won't get any cp reward from Ista, but you can still sell the gems for 1,500cp.
